Hi!

So this evening i made again some manual imports.
Always it works good. For exampel i took the source
of German/Austria/Swiss-Epg. He counts around 37000
events and the file epg_new.dat is about 9MB

/images/smiley/smile.gif /images/smiley/grin.gif /images/smiley/smile.gif

So far so good, but ...............................................
when i take i look in my channel-list there are only
a few channels which have epg. The whole Sky De Section
is missing. Austria (ORF) too, and a lot of german channels
(3Sat, WDR, EINSPlus,N24, and so on)

In attachement you got my logfile but it is so short that
i can post it here already

This is because we have took some other epg sources and noticed some missings so I have placed them back with the previous epg sources.
should be ok tomorrow.

here is my log of tonight with the sources Benelux, France, Germany and UK
So it seems that it's not the problem with the download servers.
Could you try to reload your bouquet listings? or try another bouquet listing for example mine from rytec.be?
And if this not works try to remove the plugin, restart box, reinstall plugin, restart box and do import.

When you have a log this short, then you have requested the log after an enigma restart. Are you using Gemini or an image which need a restart to load the epg?

In this case, you have to request the import log when the import is still running. Certainly before the box restarts. You also have to get the file from the /tmp/ dir before the enigma restart, because when enigma restarts it clears the /tmp/ dir.

I'm not sure whether this is relevant to the problems people are having with Rytec EPG at the moment, but here goes.

LraiZer reported to me that Rytec have changed the comment code, and asked me to change this line in his loader script:

zcat $RYTEC_xml.gz|sed -n '/-- UK --/,/-- Eurobird Zee --/p'|sed '1d'|sed '$d'|\

to this:

zcat $RYTEC_xml.gz|sed -n '/- UK -/,/- Eurobird Zee -/p'|sed '1d'|sed '$d'|\

in order to get it working again. Mind you, this is for his adaptation of Rytec EPG for Neutrino, used in our ukcvs Commando 14.3 DM500S image.

Could this change to the comment code be the culprit here, I wonder?

Just tried again...still 0 events with ET 9000 just updated to latest image online.

Import log is very simple: unknown channel on all channels.

Updated my bouquets again but didn't help.

How do I save a real import log?

You now can save the log. (blue button) The log can be found in /tmp/

However, since you have all channels unknown, the download of the channels file has gone wrong.

First, restart enigma in order to force a new download of the channels file (this file is only downloaded once a day- or after an enigma restart)
Then restart an manual import, and request the log file 10 secs after starting the import. Now save the file and send it to me pls.

It is working now! Why it hasn't worked for 3 days is still not clear to me. I put the box always in deep standby, so the channels file is downloaded everyday.

Still to be complete here is the logfile.

Since it has worked, There is nothing on the log file which is helpfull to identify the problem.
There will be always some unknown channels. F.i. some channels are dubbled, but not referenced anywhere. Also channels for the Ziggo are included andsome of these are not available on the sat.

But pls. in the future when reporting this, send the epgimport.log

I had the same problem, yesterday I noticed no epg was present. I tried all sorts, but no epg.

I did willy's suggestion, first look @ log file, nothing popped out to indicate a problem. Then switched off the box and waited a bit, switched on, and voila, epg rolled in again.

On my box it works again. Be sure to switch off your box and wait a bit, just a reboot does not help, at least with my box.

Unfortunately on my box the english channels are without epg info.

This shows that the channel file was not loaded.
What went wrong? site not available? who is to say.
Normally the importer should take then automatically another site. This clearly did not happen. Why? I do not know.

The EPG import does not work for me either.
There appears to be a problem with the website.

At first, the plugin attempts to download http://www.xmltvepg....tecxmltvbenl.gz
Then it attempts to download http://www.xmltvepg....channels.xml.gz

The website www.xmltvepg.be replies to both these downloads with a 302 error
code (document has moved) and redirects them to this file:

http://lweb05.edpnet.net/503.htm

This is not correct I think.
The log file later complains:

[EPGImport] Failed to parse channels from 'http://www.xmltvepg.be/rytec.channels.xml.gz': Not a gzipped file

Not a surprise as the 503.htm file does not suggest it is a gzipped file.

In fact, when I download the 503.htm file manually, it only says:

The monthly allowed bandwidth for this website has been exceeded.<br>
</html>


I think *that* me be an indication why it no longer works.

I have had problems several times with retrieving files from http://www.xmltvepg.be as well. These problems were various: not being able to download a file, a download of a single file taking up to 30 minutes or longer and sometimes even causing Enigma2 to be stopped and restarted due to lack of memory when processing a file collected from that site and so on. In the end I have modified the rytec.sources.xml file in /etc/epgimport removing all url's pointing to this website. Since then I have not had those problems anymore.
