Hello, I wanted to share main issues I have with et5000 first day:

1. I have previously used CST team settings with Dreamboxedit to update the channel list every week on my dm500s.
Can I do the same with the et5000 or I need settings specific for ET receivers. I created a new profile on dreamboxedit, end used the enigma2 settings.

On "File paths on the Dreambox" i see the follow:
services and buquets files: /etc/enigma2/
user buquets files: /etc/enigma2/
satellite.xml file: /etc/tuxbox/

Are these correct?
I tried to send a list but in the end the relod command gives a network error (when testing ip and password it said ok). Even if I reboot the box on the list I see ----????? instead of channel names, only the description are correct.

2. Can I install softcams online with OpenPLi or is the option not available for Enigma 2? I can not find it.

3. How can I browser this box from the pc browser. Typing the IP doesn't connect to it. Do I need to install something.

4. The date I see is 1970, how to update it.

Any help appriciated

1. For the reload to work the web interface must be installed (on the ET5000, you need the webinterface-old package)
2. Softcams are installed like any other plugin, via the software manager
3. see 1.
4. The box will get the correct time from a transponder, but that offcourse requires a valid channel list to be loaded

Currently in use: VU+ Duo 4K (2xFBC S2), VU+ Solo 4K (1xFBC S2), uClan Usytm 4K Ultimate (S2+T2), Octagon SF8008 (S2+T2), Zgemma H9.2H (S2+T2)

Due to my bad health, I will not be very active at times and may be slow to respond. I will not read the forum or PM on a regular basis.

Thanks, Ok for 2 and 4

I installed the webinterface-old package, but when pressing Green button to save configuration changes about it, the image crashes and I get the green screen.
So typing the address and port in the browser I get: Error 404: Not found
Also I get an error that was to do with webinterface plugin I tried to install (not old), it said something about oppenssl required
I absolutely need the webinterface to function, what can I do?

Also, I used in my dm500s; dropbear and dyndns plugins. I found dyndns. What about something similar to dropbear (to activate ssh connection to box, I think)
How to set these services to start on startup?

Regards

Dropbear is already installed and up and running. Just connect. You MUST change the root password first (via normal telnet), otherwise it won't let you in.

Regarding this, I configured dyndns plugin, but how to make it run. In enigma 1 there was an option for "Service to run" on startup and I selected dropbear and dyndns.

Basically these are my issues:

1. I connected an USB formated to Fat32. How to mount it and record to it? And how to backup to it? Do I need to initialize on hdd screen?
Have not found any tutorial on this. In backup settings there is an option to select what folders to backup. Normally what should be selected?
I selected them all but it was never finishing so I had to switch off the box. I have 42 free-space, did the backup took some place?

On E1 , I used FlashWizard Pro and I could backup the entire image in seconds to pc and restore from there.
Is there a similar option here?

2. I installed dyndns plugin. How to make it run on startup after configuring? In Engima 1 there was an option "Service to run"

3. I used CST channel list for 13-16-19 satellites because it is updated weekly. But does it work for Dreamboxes only?
Do ET boxes need a special modified list? Because when loading it with Dreamboxedit I get ---- in place of channels names.
Can I use dreamboxedit with this box?

4. I can not access the webinterface. I read that i need to install a plugin webinterface-old, which I did. But trying to save it after
configuring the box crashes to a green screen and E2 restarts. So can not access the webinterface ???

5. Insalled Cxcam and configured Cxcam.cfg. Installed Cxcam-info plugin, but trying to open it I get - No webinterface ... has to do with problem 4 probably

6. After I made some configuration in plugins I switched off the box for 2 hours. After reconnecting it I got the start wizard screen again and
completed the process again. What does this mean?

7. How to manual install tar.gz files? I put them to /tmp but where to install from menu, what submenu?

Any help on anything very appreciated.
Regards

Just inserting the stick should be enough. It will be available immediately. Usually a pop-up screen appears when you do so, offering to play back stuff that's on it.

To record to it, first open the recording list and browse to the stick (if you don't have a harddisk, it will open the USB device by default, otherwise, just press the yellow button and select it from the list). Once you are in the root of the stick, press the "menu" button and pick the option to bookmark this location. That will make it appear in various other menu items as well, which is why we did this step.
Exit the movie list, go to menu, settings, recording locations, and you can change them to /media/usb or so. You can also pick the USB stick as destination when programming a timer.
Note that when using a FAT stick, recordings will be limited to 4GB, even is the stick is much bigger. To break this limit, either format it in NTFS (haven't really tried this much, but it should work) or let the box re-format it in ext4 using menu, settings, harddisk, initialize.

"NEUTRAL: I installed the webinterface-old package, but when pressing Green button to save configuration changes about it, the image crashes and I get the green screen."
Did you ever find out why it crashed?
I have had the same problem on my Vu Duo. It crashed and gave me a green screen. It then tried to re-start but gets no further than the initial Blue screen. If I tab OK on the remote, I get a date of Saturday 1 Jnauary 2000. On my dsiplay it shows "My timer Favourites" and occasionally on the tv I get "service unavailable". Funny thing is that the Vu Due is still connected to my wlan. I am going to re-flash and try again.

I did a complete system shutdown and later a restart and to my utter joy and amazement everything was working as it should, including my webinterface-old package. The webinterface-old package is now very stable in that the Vu now always connects to Internet without any problems. I do not know why I got the green screen.
Sorry I cannot upload crash reports as the formum tell me "you are not permitted..."

I don't see any reason why you would not be allowed to attach a file to a post. What exactly did you do when you got that error?

Currently in use: VU+ Duo 4K (2xFBC S2), VU+ Solo 4K (1xFBC S2), uClan Usytm 4K Ultimate (S2+T2), Octagon SF8008 (S2+T2), Zgemma H9.2H (S2+T2)

I have a simple question.

By typing the IP of the box in the pc-browser can I access the ET interface ??? Because it doesn't work for me (like in E1 dreambox)
I have a clean-install apart from testin OK the network-configuration, have not added any plugin.
Where can I configure it like port, usr, passw (like on E1)

Did you install the webinterface? It's a separate plugin.

I want to mount a folder from PC to the box, but I am failing like in E1. The box freezes and have to power-off
I know there is a tutorial on the wiki but it seems to not working for me. Does anybody have a step-by-step guide or have succeed in this?

Also is there a plugin for E2, like the Moviplayer in Jade2 back in the old times...

I am using ET5000 and XP sp3.

I think the crash is related to the skin, I am posting 3 crash files since I don't remember which one is specific to the problem with webinterface-old

Just go to Main menu / Plugins / Webinterface and enable password for it. The password is the same as the login password. You may need to set that first in telnet.

passwd
(and type new password)
