After an install, the epg was downloaaded without any problem.
However, in the next couple of days the download failed. Inspection of the configuration revealed that the croseepg database was located into the flash memory, although I installed it on an USB stick.
Moreover, I could not change the position of the crossepg database back to the USB stick or even the HDD.
A restart was needed to re-enable to the crossepg database onto the USB-stick or HDD drive.
After this crossepg functioned again for 1 or 2 days, Then the same error appeared again.
I do not know what caused this.
So check your crossepg configuration for the location of your crossepg databse. When it is on the internal flash, you will have a problem.

I have the same problem... any help ?
By "the same problem" you mean "I run newnigma2 and crossepg does not work"? If that's the case, your question has already been answered, but I'll do it again: Ask either the newnigma2 folks or the crossepg author for help, we cannot help you here.
If not, start a new thread with a new question please, you're just complicating things...

I am confused. Before I run Crossepg without any trouble at all but now it has stopped downloading my xml-file.
Here is my .conf-file content that worked a couple of weeks ago: (url:s work in epgimport so they are fine)
description=Nicke tv.swedb.se XMLTV
protocol=xmltv
channels=http://mydomain.se/xmltv/sweden.channels.xml
url=http://mydomain.se/xmltv/a.xml
preferred_language=eng
My question is: must Crossepg .conf-files point to gz-files now?
Here is content from built in rytec.conf-file:
description=Rytec Sweden XMLTV
protocol=xmltv
channels_url_0=http://www.xmltvepg.be/rytec.channels-sweden.xml.gz
epg_url_0=http://www.xmltvepg.be/rytecxmltvnordic.gz
I have tried to change url's to channels_url_0= and epg_url_0= without result.
/Nicke

I removed the plugin either by using the bluebutton ( remove ipk) , or by going into telnet using the ipkg command. ( with the 'remove'-option)
I deleted the folder 'crossepg' on media/usb.
I re-installed CrossEPG.
Done!
