Hi everyone!,

I`ve been on "Swain" skin mainly for its responsiveness for quite some time now and lately i decided to give newer skins another shot, so i looked around on the downloadable skins from the online feed, and i thought...let`s try "BlackAlu-Coolman"...the download and installation went fine...restarted enigma...and then i went ahead to try the new skin...up until now everything was o.k...so i selected the new skin, and then restarted again to apply it...enigma seemed to be caught in an endless restart loop,,the only fix was to access it via ftp and remove that skin folder from usr/share/enigma...so now i`m back on "Swain" again until someone explains what`s causing the skin to fail.

here`s the Traceback for more info:

Thx Kosh for pointing that out, so now IF i understand correctly and say ...I redownload the skin again from the online feed and add and/or replace with those files that Alias1 attached (post#19), everything would be o.k., is that it?

Wouldn`t it be easier if someone uploaded a "repackaged" mod for that skin for manual installation?

Just to get you going again:
If possible remove the malfunctioning skin packages and reinstall them via the feed. This time only pick the Coolman_V5.0-packages for now, because it looks like the v5.2 packages are still bugged. In other words stick to v 5.0 for now and it should at least work without a greenscreen/reboot-loop.

dunno what went wrong back there!!!

Thx Kosh for your assistance, but that v 5.0 is nowhere to be found on the feed

Feedback:

Just so Alias1 or someone else knows, I did try like i outlined in post #3, uploaded "ExtraNumText.py" & "Watches.py" to "/usr/lib/enigma2/python/Components/Converter/", replaced the other two "clock.png" & "skin.xml" in "usr/share/enigma" but greenscreen/reboot-loop keeps going....until you fix it by deleting the folder via ftp...and then from the plugin window with the red button, that is if you want to reinstall it again, otherwise it won`t show on the list...but what`s cool about this is that when you remove that folder like i mentioned, enigma reverts back to Magic skin without me telling it to do so...

Gotta love Pli, rock solid, thx so much for this amazing platform dev team, you have my respect!!!

Back on "Swain" for now.

I hope you can at least revert to a working situation, so you can watch TV and record with your PVR?

right!, Kosh, sometimes I get caught up tinkering just for the sake of improving the user experience and get sidetracked eventually... forgetting that "working situation", y`know...putting the pvr to good use...watching...recording...but hey, thx anyways!!!

Thx Alias1, it`s working fine now

so let`s recap for those interested in trying it out;

Download the file from the link below

1- First install V 5.0 & restart Gui (preferably)
2- Apply the skin
3- Upgrade to V 5.2 by installing V 5.2 ( enigma will take care of it ) you will get a message to restart to apply…DO NOT restart just yet..
4- open the folder "Alias1"...
- overwrite the two files "clock.png" and "skin.xml" by replacing those inside usr/share/enigma2 via Ftp
- copy "ExtraNumText.py" to /usr/lib/enigma2/python/Components/Converter/ and "Watches.py" to /usr/lib/enigma2/python/Components/Renderer/
5- Restart enigma, everything should be o.k....enjoy!
