Hallo
root@dm8000:~# cat /proc/mtd
dev: size erasesize name
mtd0: 10000000 00020000 "complete"
mtd1: 00100000 00020000 "loader"
mtd2: 00300000 00020000 "boot partition"
mtd3: 03c00000 00020000 "root partition"
mtd4: 04000000 00020000 "home partition"
mtd5: 07800000 00020000 "unused partition"
mtd6: 00800000 00020000 "preset partition"
root@dm8000:~# cat /proc/mtd

mtd2: 00700000 00020000 "boot partition"
mtd3: 0f800000 00020000 "root partition"
root@dm8000:~# df -h

Huh? Faster?
With jffs2 boot time is linear to flash size: The bigger the flash, the longer it takes to mount and boot it. That's why DMM limited it to 64M in the first place, to speed the boot process a bit. Also the RAM usage is linear with flash size, so with 250M flash, it will use 4x more RAM too, I'd estimate you lose about 4MB precious irreplacable RAM because of this.
If you seriously want to use a big flash filesystem, dream should add support for a kernel >= 2.6.29 so the UBIFS filesystem can be used. Until then, I'd prefer to keep the 64MB size as it is now, it's more than big enough (and if it isn't you can always manually mount the extra partitions).

thx MiLo
or the flash size make it not slower but the image size make it ?
when i have the same image size in big flash size the boot time is the same.
ok i have now 248 MB flash, then i must have 4x boottime ? but i dont have 5-6 minutes boot time. my bootime is here 1:40 minute. With jffs2 boot time is linear to flash size:

Only the part for the flash loading will increase boottime... so not the complete boottime will be multiplied... But as far I can see I suggest due to many requests Pieterg did commit something yesterday...
But still DMM and also VU could better switch to a more accurate linux... so UBIFS works there also. This is really a boost!!!
