Then first you need to install autobackup if you did not do that before, Then create the backup,,,

Then download the new bootloader (the from ET9000 to ET9X00 bootloader) and install that one via the USB

Then download a ET9X00 image here and also install that via the USB... (and be patient)

Due to the autobackup you're ready within 10 minutes...

WaveFrontier 28.2E | 23.5E | 19.2E | 16E | 13E | 10/9E | 7E | 5E | 1W | 4/5W | 15W

I have ET9000 image in flash. What will happen if I replace feeds from http://downloads.pli...li-2.1/et9000/* to http://downloads.pli...li-2.1/et9x00/* , adding et9x00 in arch.conf and issue an opkg update; opkg upgrade?

I suspect that will go horribly wrong, as the kernels in the two images are different. Hence the fact that you will have to flash.
You also need an updated bootloader to use the 9x00 image.

Currently in use: VU+ Duo 4K (2xFBC S2), VU+ Solo 4K (1xFBC S2), uClan Usytm 4K Pro (S2+T2), Octagon SF8008 (S2+T2), Zgemma H9.2H (S2+T2)

Due to my bad health, I will not be very active at times and may be slow to respond. I will not read the forum or PM on a regular basis.

Many answers to your question can be found in our new and improved wiki.

I think opkg will not follow the 'machine' change from et9000 to et9x00, so you will have to modify the archs file as well.
Why not give it a try, you can always reflash when it does not work out.

Well, it worked! I put in arch.conf the new architecture and changed all feeds, upgraded and rebooted ok. But now some packages are of et9000 architecture and others are from et9x00 architecture. I guess I'll reflash, but it worked.
