@all,
for people who want test TV-Browser 3.1, attached a modified Version of the CapturePlugin.jar
Added a Driver for E2 Stbs with OpenWebif.

As far as i can see this tv-browser is an external program for the pc?
Would you be so kind to take a look at the program XBMC which works with the old webinterface at ip-adres "tuxbox://ipadres" but with the OpenWebif it only connects at http://ipadres but it doesn't show channels?

it´s a Java-Program runs on many platforms.
Has you set the correct media source in the video section of XBMC

The old Webif was on port 80 the new one is default on port 8081

Yes i did tuxbox://USER:PASSWORD@TUXBOX_IP:PORT/ only in my case it's 8088 ,don't no if that's bad.
Also tried without User and pass.

You are right was 8088 not 8081.
I don´t know which functions XMBC used, can be that are some not implemented at the moment.

Well it's not a big problem yet (because i have a dreambox) just hoping that you and/or others are considering this ,so it will work in near future.
XMBC is a very nice mediaplayer for the pc.

Hmm, i tried streaming with new webif and it works but firefox doesnt want to automatically start VLC. I get confirmation window with stream.m3u.txt file...
With original webinf VLC opens automatically.

Also i dont like spinning circle when grabbing screenshots. Still picture is better, like in old webif. Also i think grabbing screenshots is faster in old webif but that can be misleading.

you have to select VLC to open .m3u-files and check the box to save this... - after that VLC does this automatically.

I noted a difference in the stream.m3u generated in OpenWebIf compared to original WebIf.

The original WebIf generates the stream.m3u as follows:


#EXTM3U
#EXTVLCOPT--http-reconnect=true
http://192.168.1.83:...F:820000:0:0:0:

while new OpenWebIf creates the following stream.m3u:


#EXTM3U
#EXTVLCOPT--http-reconnect=true
#EXTINF:-1,Sky Sport 1
http://192.168.1.83:...F:820000:0:0:0:

The difference is the line with "#EXTINF:-1,Sky Sport 1".

Developers use different approaches to obtain information, maybe perhaps by parsing the stream.m3u-file and this change will break some apps.

Any reason for adding #EXTINF:-1,Sky Sport 1? If yes, I am curious to know this since this extra-line will break my code.

For me it would be better to remove it and keep the stream.m3u file identical to original WebIF. If not possible, I will change some of my code.

who knows which channel is 1:0:1:2AA8:1838:FBFF:820000:0:0:0

First of all, many thanks for the work you did by adding the streaming-part for which I am very grateful. Good job!

I know about the m3u-format and I now understand your reasoning which makes perfectly sense.

I am not so much worried about this change with my current android-app and other ones in development (it is an easy change for me) - I am more worried about some apps I wrote for Windows Mobile and Windows which will require a change although I was not really planning to maintain those anymore. Often it is enough to pass on the m3u-file directly to the video-player since the player normally knows how to handle and read the m3u-file. However this is not always true, especially with some Windows Mobile-players. In addition, I have some other motives for parsing the m3u-file but that is purely related to the apps and the possibility to get external-players start streaming in a reliable way.

The thing was that the change struck me as a bit of odd since I thought the idea was to maintain 100% compatibility but of course the EXTINF is a nice improvement.

Pheraps additional features like this can be added in settings ?
