Sometimes when i update the Openwebif by hand i get no images in the browser, so maybe something goes wrong at restarting enigma2.
Sinds i use the tar.gz and copy the files without removing theme first from the dream ,it all goes well.
Maybe this is also the case in your config.
Try to copy and restart again,maybe i'm talking poe :D (dutch expresion)

oh it works fine on my dm8000 last Openpli2.1

The dm800 only have one tuner, so you can only stream the active channel
or a channel on the same Transponder or put the dm800 in standby.

Ok, is it possible on single tuners to let the box zap to the channel I want to stream if thats not the actual channel?

@pieterg.
Are tou sure you cannot make a module for OpenWebif to embed your streamserver in OpenWebif ?
It is a pity that we have to use streamproxy to have straming working for all images.

I thought about possible solutions.
First of all, openwebif doesn't currently support the e2 source/convertor aproach.
So I found it a lot of work to add the streaming source (which would have made the standard external streamproxy happy) to openwebif.
Also I think the external streamproxy approach uses a bad design, it duplicates stripped down versions of basic e2 functionality, and has limitations (making it impossible to simply add new functionality such as EIT insertion, or AIT data to the stream)
That made me decide to implement streaming in e2 itself, where it can share existing code, and benefit from new developments.

Splitting it into an external so again would mean we have to re-introduce some python interface to e2 (for the hardware allocation, and stream pid information), and would require additional code duplication.

So I see two options;
1. manually connect the e2 stream source+convertor to the stream url in openwebif, allowing the external streamproxy to work
2. feel free to merge our internal streamserver, and forget about the legacy stream source+convertor

This might be a stupid question for many of you but not for me :)

is it possible to start and stop the OpenWebIf from telnet? If yes, how? I tried looking for a process using PS-command but couldn't find any (not even original webif).

Also, is it possible to log information concerning incoming requests from clients and responses from httpserver?

Thanks!

rgds,
tilleke

In the days of the old WEB-IF the plugin "Fancontrol2" was always available via the browser on a PC ("http://IP_of_the_box/fancontrol/"), giving a lot of information (e.g. setup, data and temperature charts).
Since the Open WEB-IF is in use, and the old one has been de-installed, Fancontroll2 gives a 404-error. So for this reason only I have to install the old WEB-IF.
Is this something you might be able to 'repair'?

It looks like openwebif doesn't support the addExternalChild features yet.

I can live very well with work in progress, but it would be nice to know if it is indeed in progress.

Strange... why should a fan plugin depend on a webinterface??
