That same thing is also in the old webinterface. Don't close the viewing screen at your computer, but stop this in VLC player. Use the square stop sign (well known thing of cassette/video/cd players etc.). Now you can see that the stream really stops and the red recording sign wil be gone at the small screen of your receiver. At least at my Vu+ Duo I can see that.

VU+ Duo 4K DVB-S2X en DVB-C met Open PLi 7.0

I have a cosmetic suggestion:
See picture; I think the above text is taking unneeded vertical space. For 1080p resolutions, its not a big prob but for laptop/netbook resolutions this is unnecessarily large? Also it does not add a functionality.

How about the horizontal space? Over 40% of the page is just blueish background. It's something all webpages seem to want to have, but I don't really see the point of wasting all that screen real estate.

When I use OpenWebif with the Dreamdroid app for Android, the App says "OE <1.6". It did this also with older OE images in the past, but OpenPLi doesn't use an older openembedded (and with the traditional Webinterface it just said OK). Why does Dreamdroid think the image uses an older OE in combination with OpenWebif?

hmm, here grab screen 'works', although it's veeeery slow (vuduo/OpenPLi)
***
and don't know what box you're talking about, but be aware that on vu(duo?) + OpenPLi 'grab' (all) does not work on HD channels for some time now (something has changed in VU drivers in one of last releases /since 3.1 kernel?/) >>> segmentation fault
grab -v (only video) and grab -o (only OSD) works ok /?/ on all channels...
***
btw. if there are here any users of other (not PLi based) images? could you please check if 'grab' (video+OSD) works fine on vuvduo on HD channels?

What is being referred to as "OE 1.6" only exists in the German opendreambox distribution. OpenPLi is based directly on openembedded.org, which is what opendreambox forked many years ago and called OE 1.5 or so. We've usually referred to the OpenPLi OE as "2.0" and later "2.1", but those are also rather meaningless numbers.

So the app is correct in reporting that it is "not" OE 1.6, though I would not use a "less than" sign for that...

But using the old Webif it only states OK, not <1.6. So it is Webif related.

Then dreamdroid is making the wrong assumptions, and it should be fixed I think.

yep, here on vuduo it's 50% of CPU (multithreaded) and spinners(!)
seems that conversion to png causes this enormous cpu usage,
eg. with;
'grab -v -j 100'
cpu usage won't budge (and screenshot quality is sufficient imho)
---
(or simple 'grab' for that matter, but bmp 'weight' is ~ 5x png and ~ 12x jpg..)

If you try to add a conflicting timer it silently gets ignored. At least a msg would be nice, conflict resolution dialog would be best.

Suggestions:

Timers View should be able to hide descriptions: can get quite overcrowded overwise

Streaming should time-out if no one is connected. maybe possible with looking at "netstat"

Refresh OSD container on click: so that you can see the success of the standby toggle not only on the audio symbol

Movielist should support exploring directories

OSD container should indicate power state (standby or not) and differ between playing or timer active

Content container should auto-scroll: so on smaller displays when you have to scroll down to reach A/V settings you don't have to scroll up again to see the new content container

Clicking on the full remote should auto-switch to the screenshot container as anything else is useless
Not sure if OpenWebif's bug:
But i edited the end time of a timer thru OpenWebif while the timer was already active, though not anywhere near it's end. Instead of extending the current recording i got a new one. However timers view still just displays one timer.

I can confirm this behavior as explained by nemdani also when using the corresponding API i.e.

/web/timerchange?sRef=&begin=&end=&name=&description=&dirname=&tags=&eit=&disabled=&justplay=&afterevent=&repeated=&channelOld=&beginOld=&endOld=&deleteOldOnSave=

Anyway, same behavior is present also in original WebIf and I reported this to Reichi who confirmed that this is not normal.

Maybe it can be fixed in OpenWebIf without waiting for Reichi trying to fix it in original WebIf?

Hello!
I am the developer of iDreamX (A Mac OSX all-in-one-tool for Enigma Sat/Cable receiver)
I just tested iDreamX with OpenWebiff and must say: "You guys made a real good job!" :)

The box I tested with, was a VU+ DUO (VTi image 4.1)

Everything works just fine so fare, except:

Send Message
You seem to use this syntax:

/api/message?message=_the_message_&timeout=10&type=1

the original e2 webIF uses this syntax:
/web/message?text=_the_message_&timeout=10&type=1

will it stay that way, or will it be compatible one day?

Playable
the original wbIF has got this function:
/web/servicelistplayable?sRef=...

will this be available in OpenWebif also some day?

Version Number
Is there any way to retrieve the version number of OpenWebIF
If I use:
/web/about
it ended up with version: 0.0.0

Thanks in advance.

relaht
