Fine.

stream authentication not yet tested.

As I said, stream auth is by default no longer handled by the Webif/OpenWebif in OpenPLi.
Thus, login as root will probably still work for streaming and there is nothing OpenWebif can do about it.

Is it possible to change the text in it login screen of opwebif, Now it includes OpenWebIf in the text.

I know how to change it myself in the code, but i have to do this everytime when i update.

Can it be changed to forbidden or something, so that not everyone knows where the login screen is for?

It's line 228 and 243 in httpserver.py

I also made this ticket https://github.com/E...ebif/issues/137 its closed so i did hope it worked now.

I now cant extend recordings at all using the webif. When i extend the time and choose save, it doest save the timer anymore.

Should i make a new ticket? Or does issue 137 need to be reactivated

Seems like a different/new issue, so you should open a new ticket.

Is it possible to implement that in stream.m3u generation from openwebif? These should work on other channels too (normal channels that does not use shared pmt)

I've committed an implementation: I've tested it only in "normal" situations: let me know if it works as desired on shared PMT

Hi Rincewind do you know if and why this implemenatation is no more ? was working in 2012 but in recent versions it is not working anymore...

There is an issue with Extras => AutoTimer. You cannot update changes when you have edited the settings in an item.

How to replicate:

1 Select an AutoTimer entry

2 Change any field (or don’t change anything)

3 Press “Save”.

Then you get an error message at the bottom of the webpage:

<html> <head><title>404 - No Such Resource</title></head> <body> <h1>No Such Resource</h1> <p>No such child resource.</p> </body> </html>

This is an OpenPLi issue:

They are using outdated versions of everything, especially AutoTimer and EPGRefresh.

I am a little unsure how you mean?

AutoTimer works in my OpenPLi based Vu+ Solo2. It’s when I try to use OpenWebif that I get issues with updates to AutoTimer entries. Or do you say there Is an API between OpenWebif and AutoTimer that needs an update?

I am a little unsure how you mean?

Simple ... Take EPGRefresh as an example:

Schwerkraft Version 2.1.4
oe-a Version 2.1.3
openpli version 1.0.1

AutoTimer works in my OpenPLi based Vu+ Solo2. It’s when I try to use OpenWebif that I get issues with updates to AutoTimer entries. Or do you say there Is an API between OpenWebif and AutoTimer that needs an update?

Things keep working to the degree they have always worked.
But new features and interaction between multiple plugins, in this case OpenWebif and AutoTimer, needs both to agree on an API, in some case things added to it after the very first release (Which OpenPLi obviously loves to use).

At some time there comes the point when "never change a running system" turns into "Life punishes those who come late".
OpenPLi is already far beyond that point.

This issue is something OpenPLi has to fix.
They would have to catch up with current plugin development.

Thanks you, SpaceRat for taking the time to explain.

Yes, if software is depending on API:s they have to keep pace with the API. Then I may not expect a solution to this issue as fast as the MultiEpg issue, which was solved within a couple of days only!

OpenWebif is still a very capable a user-friendly plugin even when the AutoTimer function only works as a browser.

Well, basically it would be as easy as merging current changes into the OpenPLi git.

OpenWebif is still a very capable a user-friendly plugin even when the AutoTimer function only works as a browser.

Well, how to say it politely?

Progress isn't exactly what OpenPLi is into.
They prefer to take working code, rewrite it, after a phase where the new code doesn't work yet ending up with working code again.
If you are lucky it even produces the same result as before, just a little bit more complicated.

If they would develop cars, it would look like this:
Brand X has switched to aluminium wheels and OpenPLi could easily do the same.
Instead, they decide that aluminium wheels are crappy and too heavy (Everything others do is crappy in their eyes, Vu+ devs are idiots, DM devs are idiots, oe-a devs are idiots, only OpenPLi devs can code properly and if it doesn't work it's the others that have to adopt to their solution, which will happen when hell freezes over).
So they work on their own type of wheels and experiment with different types of plastic. In the end, they have to accept that plastic doesn't offer the same stability as aluminium, but as they have already decided not to go the aluminium way, they end up with plain old steel wheels plus wheel hub caps.

My decision has been not to disturb the OpenPLi pros anymore while waiting for the Vu+ idiots to fix their "crappy drivers" and other things that will never happen.

That's why you are free to use any E2 image which is out there.

Nobody is telling you to use Openpli.

I really don't see how your postings will contribute to anything over here.

I don't see anybody being rude towards you, so why do you start bashing?

You can simply change to another image and corresponding forum.
