No.

If you can work the commandline, this will tell you who is streaming:

netstat | grep ":8001"

if you have a transcoding box, you also need to check

netstat | grep ":8002"

You will see something like

tcp        0      0 stefan.local:53262     et10000.local:8001      ESTABLISHED

(I have DNS entries for all devices, you might see IP addresses here)

I am fairly new to streaming to an Android device (so far I have only streamed to my PC) and I seem to have a problem with it. Is an SD card required or should I be fine without it?

First of all, when I open a HTTP connection to my box I get OpenWebif Mobile but I don't see the TV icon normally used for streaming (see the first screenshot).

When I change the view to the full interface it now looks like on my PC but when I click on the TV icon, a SAVE message pops up (for buffering?) where I assume I should be able to change the directory but it looks like it must start with /storage/sdcard0.

What am I doing wrong?

The "Save" dialog is quite normal ... the OpenWebif just generates an .m3u file, which is then used by a media player to play the stream (Which actually isn't even provided by OpenWebif at all).

You just have to open that saved .m3u using a streaming-capable media player, or associate .m3u downloads with a such a media player.

Thanks but the problem is I cannot change the beginning of the path, which starts with /storage/sdcard0.

I don't know if this is required by OpenWebif or by my Android smartphone or If I am doing something wrong.

Can someone who does not have an SD card inserted into their Android smartphone please say something about the streaming feature?

HTTP port = 00000

Enable HTTP Authentication = no

Enable HTTPS = Yes

Have you tested this?

Problem 1: Port can not be set to 00000, it remains always at 00001.

Problem 2: How to enable https authentication?

Why?
Because you want to use WebIf from the internet? Forward only https port in your router. Well, still a bad idea. Better use VPN.

Because i always disable non secure services like http, telnet, ftp etc.

To avoid a possible non-secure login.

If you have http and https active, and you connect unintended with http, it's a security risk.

So if you disable http, this can not happen. ;)

Do you know what i mean? It's more secure if the non-secure services are completely disabled.

And i think in the year 2017 there should be none insecure service. If possible all should have an "S" (httpS, Ssh, Sftp...).

HTTPS doesn't protect you against non-secure logins. It will only protect you against man-in-the-middle attacks and snooping on the wire, providing you use a sufficently strong certificate, signed by a secure CA.

The STB and it's OS was designed for in-home local use, it was not designed for, and it should never be, connected to the internet. In any form. Making it so secure as you can make a linux server OS requires a complete redesign of a more than 10 year old platform.
