Which repo? Discuss it with the current maintainer, he can let us know he agrees and we can give you access.

https://github.com/E...lugin-OpenWebif

I have finally fixed all problems with "Alternatives" (zapto, edit/remove/toggle timers, add timer from EPG, ...) within OpenWebif that I could find.

See issue 18 for one part of the problem.

It is not possible to select a channel in add timer (upgraded this morning and needed it, I don't know how long this has been the case)

Could somebody please look/respond at this finding?

The modifications are made by jbleyel but he seems to not read this board.

Try to open an issue @ github

I've put an issue there a week ago (https://github.com/E...Webif/issues/73) and although several OpenWebIF updates have been installed using OpenPli update this functionality still is broken. Any suggestions to have somebody take a look?

Hi guys,

I really don't know if you already talked about it, but since the VLC player is back on iOS devices, it would be awesome if you could start a stream directly from the mobile version of OpenWebIf to the VLC app on the iPad.

What do you think about it?

Bye

Should not be necessary anymore, I've made a different workaround, getStreamingData will now return None instead of {} when a service is not streamable.

transcoding works OK again, thank you pieterg.

I have just installed the latest OpenPLi on my friend's Solo2 for the first time and I do not see Transcoding setup in Plugins. Also, there is no "transcoding" icon in OpenWebif.

Do I need to install something or isn't this feature supported by OpenPLi?

I use OpenPLI 3.0 update 15-9-2013

In the past I could switch Radio streams via OpenWebIf and after this switching I was able to hear the sound :-)

However actual this is not possible anymore.
If I switch via OpenWebIf to a other stream I see (on the TV) that the satellite receiver change from stream-channel however I can’t hear the sound of this stream.
But if I switch via the remotecontrol I can hear the stream-sound.
Very strange.

Can someone confirm this problem?

I noticed just that also the TV-streams are not switchable in OpenWebIf.

Does anyone notice this problem?

Hi,

I think that we can improve the way Openwebif manage the 4097: type of service (streaming).

You allow to start a stream from OpenWebif even to those channels but you generate this:

#EXTM3U
#EXTVLCOPT--http-reconnect=true
http://192.168.1.201:8001/4097:0:0:0:0:0:0:0:0:0:mms://stream2.canal.qc.ca/enOndes_haut_debit:Euronews France

This is somehow strange... since it is already a stream, why not simply generate this if the service is of 4097 type:

#EXTM3U
#EXTVLCOPT--http-reconnect=true
mms://stream2.canal.qc.ca/enOndes_haut_debit:Euronews France

Simply return the stream itself, it is useless to try to stream a stream.

Same thing applies for service type:  1:64:  those are just marker in the favorite so simply ignore them when generating the .m3u file.

Simply return the stream itself, it is useless to try to stream a stream.

While I fixed the Stream-type services from preventing the channel selection in timer add to fill, I was considering it.

However, I decided against it because:
  • I personally do not even use those.
  • There might be reasons for having the box stream them to the web-interface user, rather than just telling the stream location:
    • A stream might not be available on the location I'm accessing the web-interface from, while it would still be available to the box itself.
T-Entertain streams can only be opened on T-Entertain connections, the same will probably apply to Vodafone TV and so on and so on.
Streams that origin from the local network the box is in would also not be suitable for a being viewed directly anywhere else.
    • The client might require the stream to be transcoded to be able to watch.
You probably do not have the required sustained transfer rate on your 3G mobile to watch a 7 or even 15 MBit/s stream ...
  • If on the other hand you want to watch the stream directly from anywhere, it's probably more clever to add it directly to the video clients bookmarks/favorites/whatever, rather than abusing the WebIf as bookmark hoster.

I have connect My Enigma2 receiver with my Audio Amplifier and listen via this way to the Internetradio on my Enigma2 receiver (streams).
If possible I would like to "switch" The Radio streams via OpenWenIf. That would be very comfortable for us.

Remark:
This “switching" (via OpenWebIf) was possible in the past.

For example this option was still functioning with the image from:

OpenPLi-3.0-beta-vuduo-20130418_usb

However not working anymore with the image from:

OpenPLi-3.0-beta-vuduo-20130830_usb

Somewhere between these two Image version there is something changed in OpenWebIf

Hi SpaceRat,

No problem to leave the option as it is right now, I was just wondering if the goal of an STB was to stream a stream.

Indeed this make sense on STB that can transcode the video into another format, now we should test if they can do it on stream or not.

Hi,

Possible improvement, at my request in the EPG when we schedule an event we have 3 possibilities: zap, record, zap+record.

In OpenWebif it seems that zap+record is not foreseen, can you please add this option too?  So we have a match between OpenWebif and EPG.

Thanks,

There is a bug in openwebif that doesn't allow zapping on stream type servicerefs in userbouquets. Assuming a serviceref as:

#SERVICE 4097:0:0:0:0:0:0:0:0:0:http%3a//10.55.1.254%3a8080/test:Test Channel
#DESCRIPTION Test Channel

openwebif gives to gstreamer the url http://10.55.1.254:8080/.test:Test
It takes part of the channel name at the end of the serviceref as part of the URL, which is wrong.

I tried to locate the bug in the openwebif source but couldn't find it. If any openwebif developer sees this, please fix it.

Welcome to the OpenPLi support board.

Perhaps, the cause that some things do not work properly is because we do not support the AZbox.
And this is not the OpenRSI board. ;)

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Many answers to your question can be found in our wiki: Just one click away from this "solutioncentre".

Als ik alles al wist hoefde ik ook niets te vragen. If I had all the knowledge I had no questions at all.
