im using open pli2.1 and have noticed the satfinder in the dm500hd wont get a lock on any freq with the sr of 29500 , is this the image problem ? the picture is clearing fine so its not the lnb and im getting 100% signal at 28e on lower sr numbers 22000 etc, can someone check this if they have same box and image . thanks

Yep, no problem here (OpenPLi 2.1 on dm8000).

Are you aware these are DVB-S2 (QPSK) transponders?

If you're getting 100% SNR, something's wrong, definitely.

Are you also aware these transponders carry encrypted channels?

yes i know they are encrypted but surely i should get a lock on with a tick in the box , im getting 100% signal on the lower sr levels so dish is right on position but when ive tried 12226H29500 and 12324V29500 i cant get a lock ,all others are fine . thanks

What does the satfinder screen say, exactly, when you enter these data?

the green bar at the top just keeps jumping from 0 to 75% every 0.5 secs, its only on the 29500 sr channels

Bar jumping actually means: no reception, don't pay attention to it.

As I said before, this transponder is DVB-S2 and you should scan it likewise.

Select:
- dvb-s2
- other parameters the same
- fec = 3/4
- modulation = qpsk
- roll-of = 0.35
- pilot = auto

I noticed because DVB-S2 doesn't support auto-fec, you must set it to 3/4.

This gives me ~12 dB SNR, which isn't bad.

Thanks Erik , you are right , when i put the figure in that you say and change to dvbs2 and set the fec to 3/4 or even 7/8 . i get snr at 15.1db and signal at 94% and a tick in the lock box . thanks for all your help ,( ive bought a new lnb aswell as i thought it was that at fault)
