Hi,

my Dreambox DM 8000 HD has no Internet connectivity;however, it works in my home network (intranet)

The Dreambox has a fixed IP and I am using my router's IP as the nameserver IP. This has been since I got the Dreambox. The only change is that I have moved (inside Germany), but I am still using the same Internet provider (Telekom).

I have noticed that when I run the network test, the nameserver answer with a red "unconfirmed".

I tried to set the router and the Dreambox to DHCP, but with the same result. The Dreambox got an IP from the router, but the network test showed a red "unconfirmed" for the nameserver.

I can use also access the dreambox from my laptop via the web interface.

I have tried to reset the network, I have rebooted the Dreambox, but it still doesn't want to access the Internet. I have flashed it with the latest Image (30 Oct 2011) and now I have no TV because I don't get the softcams downloaded. :-(

On all other equipment and computers that I have, I have set the nameserver's IP to the DSL routers address and everything work, except the Dreambox.

Does anyone have any suggestions / tips??

Best regards

Since you posted this message, I assume your PC can connect to the internet just fine?

Try comparing the nameservers, on a Windows PC you can see the nameservers in your network card's status (under advanced somewhere), or using the command "ipconfig /all" on a command prompt.

DHCP should just work. I usually recommend it to prevent exactly this kind of troubles, but it seems you've already tried that.

I got it to work, but I don't know why. When I removed the nameserver and re-entered the IP, it didn't work. I then added a second nameserver with the same IP and suddenly it started to work.

Best regards
