The Blackpole is a completely open merging of pli and black hole coding, a side project of the blackhole team .

Backupsuite wouldnt see the usb stick even though it was installed and mounted.I had to mount the usb as the hdd which the app then saw. then using backup to hdd ... when trying to backup there were conflicting files so it aborted,The backupsuite worked on bp 0.1.3 using the usb stick as the hard drive as above.

For the backupsuite to work directly onto the USB-stick there has to be a file with the name backupstick or backupstick.txt (or whatever name as long it contains the string "backupstick" in whatever case) on the USB-stick in the root.
Next conditions are: there have to be the following files installed
/usr/sbin/mkfs.ubifs
/usr/sbin/nanddump
/usr/sbin/ubinize
The files are installed by the package mtd-utils in the normal builds of Openpli. If Black Pole decided to handle these files in different way then it is most likely this is generating above mentioned error(s)
Attached is the package mtd-utils as provided in Openpli 3.0

Thanks for the file Pedro_Newbie I will give it a try.I did put the file backupstick on the usb but no good. What is meant by "in the root"...perhaps thats what was wrong.

What I mean with: "In the root" is directly on the USB not in a folder.
It could be that the supplied mtd-utils won't install because it is conflicting with the files supplied by Black Pole.
You could ask the makers of Black Pole to make the image compatible or supply the backupsuite with the image, I know in that Blackhole there was the backupsuite supplied with the image (I thought in a somewhat adjusted form)

backupsuite working ok.not been able to get the usb option working yet but got the backup on usb by calling it the hdd as before.Interestingly when I installed mtd-instils the duo deleted about 10 what it called obsolete files
