Hi,

just to inform you with new Kernel 3.1 FW Version 1.9.4 is needed for proper operation for Devices based on CARL9170.

Delete Bitbake having "obsolete" Version 1.9.2 should be safe (as CARL Modules are only used with Linux ETxxxx Devices having Kernel > 3.x and no for Machines having wifilegacy Support) and change bitbake version 1.9.4 from:

and remove Line DEFAULT_PREFERENCE = "-1" in here. Rebuild Package and upload to feed.

If someone can confirm this

I think there are not a lot of people using the combination et9x00 and rt73. Do you think your patch would influence the other wifi chipsets?

We can commit the patch...

i hope that some folks out there (with different Chipsets like rt3070 or some Atheors based) are actually willing to check this patch

But as already said, it does not change anything for the NON-Hidden SSID WLAN-Networks.

I can take a look into this one... but I cannot check anything (as I do not use Wifi).... so I have to do this "blind"... and I can do this earliest on thursday.

thank you for the offer to double checking my Patch. Maybe we will find others out there, who can test it with other Chipsets like rt73 on etxx00 Models. Espacially prefered those Guys who actually have problems when trying to associate with Hidden WLANs.

Yes firmware 1.9.4 works fine with ar9170 on linux kernel 3.1

Please remove Default_preference

Hi,

performing "opkg update" to refresh Packagelist on STB still pops up with Version 1.9.2-r0 as only Firmware available on your Feed.

I think adding this in bitbake should force Package Rebuild and make sure Firmware is actually upgraded on Software Online-Update:

PR = "r1"

oe git pull seems not to have worked on the buildserver (temporary sf error I guess)
