Excellent

Recently enigma2-plugin-extensions-mpdcontrol version 0.1-r2 was removed, the ipk wasn't build ok (without architecture) and was giving issues on every single box, even the ones that didn't use MPD.

I've intalled that mpdcontrol extension (0.16.0, the latest MIPSEL version i could find), and when you have MPD running in your box, the plugin also works...

If MPD and it's dependencies are not installed, de mpdcontrol extension crashes indeed.
I do not have the tools to compile MPD myself: can anyone do it for me and the community?
regards,

@wimpie007 I`m not sure if MPD is what I`m looking for, but would it make possible to use my Wi-Fi connected Android Device to be used as "wireless" speaker?

No it works the other way around, MPD makes your receiver function as a headless music jukebox. There are also Android plugins that make your phone work as a remote control for MPD.

Edit: MPD does have optional radiostream (ogg/shoutcast/icecast) outputs, so you could tune into that with your phone and use it like a wireless speaker.

@greatred: yes, streaming is build-in.
with my build 1.6, streaming makes MPD crash when skipping songs unfortunately.

EDIT: @litemotiv: saw your remark to late...

Thanks for your replies, but to be honest I`m still a little bit lost. What I would like to do is forward the audio output of my DM800, Jukebox functionality is not necessarily. In the end I would like to output audio from TV channels to LAN. i`m not sure if this can be done without a major A/V sync issues.
And please forgive me spamming this topic.

Please add MPD in opkg.
Runs perfectly under OpenPLi here.

mpdcontrol is not even necessary for the daemon, the clients working fine here.

Meanwhile, i have compiled 0.16.5.
HTTPD daemon is the only thing that doesn't work good. tried different versions of MPD.
@inidata: did you try httpd? skipping a song while listening to httpd-stream makes MPD going nuts.
