ozzsurf, I don’t remember exactly, but it happened that the video files didn't play at the system level. Maybe libva or something else... In any case, this is the first report on the inoperability of video files. It is necessary to ensure that they play with the built-in Ubuntu video player. Vlc has own built-in codecs. Is there anything in the logs about this?

In order of receipt of questions.
What does 'aplay -l' say?

OSD->xine. You can change these settings?

aplay -l
**** Lista de Dispositivos de Hardware PLAYBACK ****
placa 0: NVidia [HDA NVidia], dispositivo 3: HDMI 0 [HDMI 0]
  Subdispositivos: 1/1
  Subdispositivo #0: subdevice #0
placa 0: NVidia [HDA NVidia], dispositivo 7: HDMI 1 [HDMI 1]
  Subdispositivos: 1/1
  Subdispositivo #0: subdevice #0
placa 1: Generic [HD-Audio Generic], dispositivo 0: ALC892 Analog [ALC892 Analog]
  Subdispositivos: 0/1
  Subdispositivo #0: subdevice #0

Yes i can change the settings OSD - Xine A/V Settings

I try the different settings but always without sound with Ubuntu 19.10.

@1455

i want to use the plugins i have to play with mediaplayer or movieplayer

it seems there is no codecs installed to play back anything with openpli2pc

otherwise whats the point in openpli2pc if i have to record a stream with a plugin then play back with vlc

i can do that in a terminal  and pipe it  to vlc without openpli2pc

RevPir,

as I see you use the analog output.

placa 1: Generic [HD-Audio Generic], dispositivo 0:

In theory, in the OSD should be:
Sound card1
Sound device 0

'alsamixer' ?

However, I noticed that U-19.10 really likes to send sound to HDMI. Apparently, you need to do something in the alsa.conf area (I don't remember what it is called there now).
In general, 19.10 some kind of strange. I can't install it on SSD "WD Blue ... 500GB". More precisely, Xorg doesn't start, but with the HDD it is normal. Maybe wait for the LTS?

ozzsurf, I have attached a list of my packages for 19.10 (dpkg --get-selections "*" > my_packages.txt).

1) dpkg --set-selections < my_packages.txt
2) apt-get -u dselect-upgrade

Thanks again 1455, I was able to solve the sound problem by using the pactl application.

If it is useful for someone I leave it here as I did:

The bold lines are terminal commands.

pactl list short sinks

1    alsa_output.pci-0000_26_00.6.analog-stereo    module-alsa-card.c    s16le 2ch 44100Hz
2    alsa_output.pci-0000_10_00.1.hdmi-stereo-extra1    module-alsa-card.c    s16le 2ch 44100Hz

pactl set-default-sink 'alsa_output.pci-0000_26_00.6.analog-stereo'

sudo gedit /etc/pulse/default.pa

At the bottom of file uncomment the line of the output and it should look like this

### Make some devices default
set-default-sink output 1
#set-default-source input

Delete the ~/.config/pulse directory and reboot the system.

Now work fine the sound for me.

Thanks

mediaplayer or movieplayer

do not recognize file extensions of any type from any directory
the directorys are always blank
so cant select a file to play anything
coz i cant see anything to play

as for selecting plugins  i can record a stream to hdd and play back with vlc

if i select play the movieplayer pops up and nothing happens
i do not get any errors

i cant play any file or stream
with movieplayer or mediaplayer

What i did to solve this was to install all the audio and video codecs, install the vlc and then compile OpenPli-PC again. As the dependencies are already installed it is quite fast.

sudo apt install libdvdnav4 libdvdread4 gstreamer1.0-plugins-bad gstreamer1.0-plugins-ugly libdvd-pkg
sudo apt install ubuntu-restricted-extras

Vlc installed through Ubuntu Software.

Then just compile OpenPli-PC again by launching the 6 scripts without deleting anything, the scripts do all the work.

I don’t know too much about Hispasat since it's only 5 degrees above the horizon and I can’t check. Perhaps these links will help (in the second link there is some script for the list of channels):
Link1
Link2

I just make it fit the changing software environment. :)

In enigma2 arm and mips i have to work in several receivers (Vu+ Zero 4K, Gigablue, etc...), the channel list is not a problem, the problem is to install the astra-sm package and the respective script in the ubuntu OpenPLI-PC.
I saw around some links with astra-sm:

Let's see if I can find some way to install.

Thanks again

I just now found out what it is. So at what stage is the problem? Build a package or something else?

With a Dvb receiver the astra-sm package is installed by telnet with the command:

opkg install astra-sm

Then you need the script for the processor architecture and the configuration file that will be placed in the /etc/astra/ folder of enigma2 like:

/etc/astra/scripts/abertis

/etc/astra/astra.conf

The problems are:

- How build and install astra-sm package in your project?

- How to get the script abertis? (I think it is possible to obtain when compiling astra-sm).

Sat Astra 4A/SES 5 at 4.8ºE have the package T2-MI Zeonbud that uses the same system.

I found out that packages contents libaio1_0.3.110-r0_mips32el.ipk:
/usr/lib/libaio.so.1
/usr/lib/libaio.so.1.0.1
And astra-sm_0.2-r0_mips32el.ipk:
/usr/bin/astra
/usr/bin/t2mi_decap
/etc/astra/scripts/

Respectively:
apt install libaio-dev libaio1

astra-sm standard compiling in 18.04 without any problems. In our case, we take the newest src:

git clone https://github.com/OpenVisionE2/astra-sm.git
cd astra-sm
./autogen.sh
./configure
make
make install

In this case the path will be /usr/local/bin.

/usr/local/share/astra:

test_audio.ts

test_mpeg2.ts

test_mpeg4_sd.ts

test_mpeg4_hd.ts

/usr/src/E2PC/astra-sm/src/tests:

t2mi_decap

ts_spammer

Perhaps need ./configure --prefix=/usr.
You try next. I'll look for an algorithm of work.

I compiled the astra-sm package without errors and copied the files to their directories, edited channel and bouquets settings but without success.

Still to know where astra.conf should stay and no idea about the script abertis x64. I tried the directory /etc/astra and /usr/local/bin.

Maybe my old SkyStar HD2 is not compatible? Maybe someone with a tbs card can also test.

If it is useful I can facilitate links to the arm and mips scripts. To use it is not necessary dvb-s2x, I have a dvb-s2 receiver and it works well.

I hope for new suggestions

If it works on Vu+ Zero 4K and Gigablue, then connect over the network and look for the files you need there. I still don't understand how this works.
