Hello, I have a problem with OSD - there is none. Enigma starts and it is reacting to key events, although not all of them (for example F10 does nothing).
I'm using VirtualBox with Ubuntu 11.10 32bit, Windows 7 32bit ass host.
I followed the thread and nobody09 instructions in git readme file. Please find my logs attached.
What else should I install / configure? Perhaps it's something simple but this is new to me. I'll appreciate any help - I would like to develop some plugins but I have only one STB - frequently used by my family. :(
Regards.

hi sek1973
For a list of working keys see this post (in the previous page)
If F1, F2, F3,F4, the arrow keys, backspace and enter keys are working then you are doing well.
A for audio is also working (although for me selecting a different audio track has no effect, if somebody could confirm if this happens only to me I would really appreciate it)

As for the OSD I would suggest you try the files in here:
http://www.ziddu.com...efirst.rar.html
(unpack and move the content of pkg to / , then restart enigma2)

I noticed a bug in enigma2-openpli (present also in cougat´s)
I tune to euronews (dvb-s) and press the audio button which allows me to select the audio track (English, Spanish, French, German, etc)
I can select whatever language I want, but the audio stays in German. This happens with all the channels with multiple audio channels that I have tried. For me it is a show stopper.
Is this a known bug?

For me not. I put it on my list.

Did you try the OSD branch? (Clone the git and then type "git checkout osd").
If that doesn't work, please post E2 log (first 100 lines is enough).

Please also change the following in xine.conf (/usr/local/e2/share/enigma2/xine.conf)
Change
video.driver=auto
to
video.driver=xshm

With the latest OSD branch, OSD should be visible.

@sek1973: Please try at first the OSD branch. Without it you won't see any OSD unless you use linux (no virtual system) and a nvidia card.

@casacristo: sek1973 is using virtual box, so xine vdpau driver doesn't work and no OSD is visible at all. It doesn't help to use another skin.
Only the other branch can help.

Best reagrds,

Thanks Raider05! If it worked with old xine lib, it should be possible to find the difference between old and new and fix the problem.
When I have time, I'll look at it.

Thanks a lot for quick responses. :) I did everything you suggested:
- installed the skin
- set osd by "git checkout osd"
- changed video driver in xine.conf
- restarted whatever I could
OSD still not there... :(
Could it be connected with screen resolution? The suggested skin is HD type, but my vbox machine resolution is lower, so enigma screen is resized.
The majority of keys seem to be working (I get info in terminal window).

Please do the following:
1. Goto openpliPC directory
2. Check whether right branch is selected:
It should look like this (important is the star before osd):
> enigma2/openpliPC_osd$ git branch
  master
* osd
If it doesn't look like this. Do
git checkout osd

3. Recompile everything and start e2:
cd enigma2
sudo make clean
cd ..
cd xine-lib
sudo make clean
cd ..
./build_openpliPC.sh -b -r
sudo ./e2bin

If that doesn't work, check the driver setting (still use xshm) and try use default skin.
Buyukbang has reported that he can see the OSD with this settings in a virtual machine.

If it doesn't work, please attach e2 output.

Hi,

I confirm that it work in a virtual machine (virtual box), I test it both on an Ubuntu 11.10 64 bits and 10.10 32 bits, as stated above you need to checkout the osd branch and compile it. Just checkout is not enough.

But try first with the default skin before trying to change the skin.

Thanks a lot. It's working now! :)
The right branch was selected but rebuilding did it.
You are really doing great job. :)
One more question for now. Is it safe to install other skins - I mean new Pli HD?
Regards.

Attention to all VU+ users !!!

Unfortunately VTuner does not work with VU+ and it needs some code modification. I opened a ticked for that:

http://code.google.c...id=13&thanks=13

I tried to help the developer, Honza, but I stuck at a point since I don't have a usb tuner to attach my VU+. IS there anyone having VU+ and a dvb usb tuner that want to help the developer and provide required logs?

I have tested nobody9s PliHD skin (https://github.com/n.../skin-PLiHD.git). With the latest fix (is already in git) I have no problems using it.

Thanks again. I cloned the PLiHD skin repo and it's working fine.
I have another question. Although I can see many plugins inside local/e2/lib/enigma2/python/Plugins folder there are almost none when I start enigma and call Menu | Plugins: MediaScanner and PicturePlayer. What should I do to have all of them there? I can not see anything in log which could be the reason for not starting other plugins...
Thanks in advance for any help.
Regards.

in skin.xml (for all skins)

Unless I change the second line from:

<resolution bpp="32" xres="1280" yres="720"></resolution>
to:

<resolution bpp="32" xres="1920" yres="1080"></resolution>

I do not get a full screen (even if I toggle full screen within enigma2)

As a reference I have the same problem with xine but there I fix it by adding
--geometry 1920x1080+0+0 to the xine command line

Is there some way to do the same with enigma2 ?

There are plugins system, and they are located in the SystemPlugins, and OSD - Menu-> System. Other plug-ins are located in the directory Extensions. To install additional plug-ins sometimes enough to copy them to the appropriate directory. OpenPLi plugins can be downloaded as and install

git clone git://openpli.git.sourceforge.net/gitroot/openpli/plugins-enigma2
cd plugins-enigma2
autoreconf -i
PKG_CONFIG_PATH=/usr/local/e2/lib/pkgconfig ./configure --prefix=/usr/local/e2

I do not want to put all the plugins :) , so I go to the directory and the plugin
make
make install
and etc.
and even adding a symbolic link
ln -s /usr/local/e2/lib/enigma2 /usr/lib/enigma2
ln -s /usr/local/e2/lib/enigma2 /usr/local/lib/enigma2
ln -s /usr/local/e2/etc/enigma2 /etc/enigma2
ln -s /usr/local/e2/etc/tuxbox /etc/tuxbox
ln -s /usr/local/e2/share/enigma2 /usr/share/enigma2
ln -s /usr/local/e2/share/enigma2 /usr/local/share/enigma2

here are some more plugins

E2PC, Ubuntu 12.04 x86, DVB-S2 card Omicom SkyStar 4, Nvidia card 9500GT 512Mb DDR2 driver 195.36.24, Satellites 9.0E, 36.0E

Hi,

If somebody succeed to cleared channels with OScam I would be happy to have the right setup. I saw that OScam is doing what it should but I don't see the channel unscrambled, only FTA channels works. I use vtuner.

Thanks,

Thanks for the response. Actually it is a little bit different. Plugins are located in subfolders of Plugins folder. But the way they are called is generally (because this is not the only way) described in plugin.py file for each plugin in its directory. Calling PluginDescriptior with appropriate arguments decides if plugin appears in menu, extensions selection, movie selection etc.
You are righ that in many cases it is enough just to copy the plugin to the right folder. The only thing you have to do is restart enigma or you can do it programatically by calling plugins.readPluginList from Components.PluginComponent but it is more complicated.
You are also right that some plugins are also visible in Menu | Settings | Systems. The problem is that I can see some plugins in local/e2/lib/enigma2/python/Plugins folder and I do know that they should be in Menu | Plugins but they aren't... :(
However I will try what you suggest and report if it helped.
Thanks again.
Regards.
