Hm.. So I tried compiling on a freshly reinstalled 16.04 and everything seems to have gone well. But it doesn't work. Least of all, e2bin symlink is gone, so had to launch it manually. Then it spit out all sorts of weird errors:

input_file: File not found: >/usr/local/e2/etc/tuxbox/logo.mvi<

[CI] cannot open /usr/local/e2/etc/stb/tsmux/input0
[CI] cannot open /usr/local/e2/etc/stb/tsmux/input1

    profile_file = open(resolveFilename(SCOPE_CONFIG, "profile"), "w")

It's all there though...

And when I tried recompiling just Enigma2PC (that is, launching ./4_build_openpliPC.sh):

/dvbsoftwareca/dvb_softwareca.c: In function ‘dvblb_init’:
/dvbsoftwareca/dvb_softwareca.c:239:21: error: assignment from incompatible pointer type [-Werror=incompatible-pointer-types]

Wha'ts going on? :(

Old vdr/enigma2pc forum doesn't work. They wrote that it worked but I have not tried it.

Excuse me. I unsuccessfully updated. Tomorrow I'll fix it.

U exactly compile as root and use gcc 5 and 16.04?

A few tips and tricks.
If the enigma2pc hangs, click PrtScr -> Esc and in the menu (cairo) select "Kill Enigma2PC".
Script 4 copies the missing file logo.mvi to /enigma2/data.
If you compile only enigma2 folder (manually or with script 4) then for each case run the script 5 to overwrite files that may contain old data.

I'm not a developer and just like any engineer I use logic and copypaste. So please don't ask me why it does not work for you.))

Yeah, I tried. Ubuntu 16.04 with 4.8 kernel fails when compiling dvbsoftwareca due the warnings being treated as errors. With 16.04 and 4.4 kernel everything compiles but I get segfaults when launching enigma2 as root or via sudo. Just like before. Doesn't matter with Nouveau or NVIDIA drivers.

It's so frustrating... My best is to try under different PC and see what happens. H/W on this one is fine, I compile some other stuff from time to time. It's all good, but maybe some CPU/MOBO/BIOS/GPU combo simply makes Enigma2 segfaults. I have no idea...

This log looks the same as the first time? The problem was in libxine. This log looks the same as the first time? I didn't understand another audio_decoder.c helped or not?
Seems that you tried both enigma2pc and enigma2pc (old) and didn't enter:

make uninstall

But they have other files with different names and contents. Some files you have rewritten, and some have remained from another version. This is confusion. So you see in the log:

Traceback (most recent last call last):
  File "/usr/local/e2/lib/enigma2/python/mytest.py", line 534, in <module>
    Import Components.InputHotplug
ImportError: No module named InputHotplug

You must: 'make uninstall' or better delete /usr/local/e2 folder. Take enigma2pc (old). Now it works better. I didn't advise to install 14.04. This has no meaning and works the same as in 16.04.

Hello guys, im working to build last enigma2pc (1455 version) code on Kubuntu 17.04 x86_64 with 4.10.0.19 kernel version.

So first we need to install following packages from apt: "apt-get install rpl swig" (i hope 1455 will add to build script in future) and couple of packeges from previous dist (see attachments).

Tested on:

Linux shadowman-kubuntu-vm 4.10.0-19-generic #21-Ubuntu SMP Thu Apr 6 17:04:57 UTC 2017 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux

Finally edit following files

"enigma2/lib/base/estring.cpp"

static char stropen[] = "\xc2\x86";
static char strclose[] = "\xc2\x87";

"/usr/include/xine/xineintl.h" ( its just a hackfix)

#include <locale.h>

#define ENABLE_NLS
#define XINE_TEXTDOMAIN "libxine2"

#ifdef ENABLE_NLS

Later i post patch for dvbsoftwareca for kernel 4.10.

17.04 has gcc-6.3 with which it is not going. "Rpl" - simple text replace utility. Maybe replace with a patch for the configure.ac?

Yes, 17.04 use gcc (Ubuntu 6.3.0-12ubuntu2) 6.3.0 20170406, but i sucessfully builded whole code with that, and work properly.

The rpl is used in 4_build_openpliPC.sh:

release=$(lsb_release -a 2>/dev/null | grep -i release | awk ' { print $2 } ')
if [ "$release" = "17.04" ]; then
 echo "*** 17.04 ***"
 echo "-----------------------------------------"
 echo "       apply patch to configure.ac       "
 echo "-----------------------------------------"
 rpl '[GST_MAJORMINOR=$withval],[GST_MAJORMINOR=0.10])' '[GST_MAJORMINOR=$withval],[GST_MAJORMINOR=1.0])' enigma2/configure.ac
fi

but if manual install these packages ( gst 0.10 ) then, this line it's not needed.

Thanks, Shadowman94.

Very glad that now I'm not alone. :) Everyone who has been doing this, starting with cougar_enigma, has no time to e2pc.
I have a request to all who use this. If you notice a bug, then write here. Spend a minute, please. Otherwise, I spend a lot of time identifying bugs.

I have some problem with automatic transponder scanning, when i do auto scan, its only found 35 channel on 19.2E maybe this only scan 3 or 4 transponder, but if i do manual scan transponder one by one on this satellite its found all channels.

I have Skystar HD2 card with default mantis driver.

Shadowman94, I don't see kernel 4.9 in the repositories 17.04.

Yes, with your patches e2pc is going to, but on the kernel 4.10 I don't see even the open channels from the old channel list and the new channels can't scanned. Maybe I need to install this drivers for kernel 4.10?

Do you see the encrypted channels through the oscam or it is only needed for development?

I'll see the auto scan later.

1455, yes its working properly for me without installed any additional driver, in oscam need to set boxtype to dreambox, if u want i can send kernel log and oscam log in private message.

Video driver nvidia or noveau? Why the kernel 4.9? Have you tried 4.10?

I don't have video on the kernel 4.10. The DVB card does not work. But I added your support for 17.04 in scripts for automatic installation. Check it, please.

I tried 4.9 with nvidia, but video is shuttering so hard. Now im using 4.10 and its working fine, still whole xServer has shuttering but video isnt.

What kind of type dvb-s card u have?

With my skystar hd2, enigma doesnt display snr and agc ratio, but working fine and im not installed any third party driver for that, just installed fresh system and e2pc.
