Build Script for Openpli Enigma2 on Ubuntu 10.4 32 Bit

Thanks for the vtuner files. Unfortunately it made no difference.
I do get a vdpau not available error - could this be the cause. I will go through this thread and the enigma/vtuner output again to see if I have missed something.
I still get the splash screen. I get quite a bit of activity when I start enigma between the vtuner server and client, but no picture materialise - do I need an nvidia card to see any picture or just for OSD to work? I gather it is only for OSD.
I will keep trying as this is a great idea and your work on this is much appreciated.

which values for audio and video buffers you have set in /usr/local/e2/share/enigma2/xine.conf
the log says the buffer for video has over 14 hours
Xine.conf attached.

you need for OSD and HD Video a Nvidia card with VDPAU.
Have you setup your satelite configuration in enigma2, the default config is set to unicable.

There is other xine-lib.old - try compile this and replace xinelib.

Hi,
I wanted to know if this software works only with VTUNER software or a real DVB-S2 card as TT-S3200 would work too ?
(i am not a Ubuntu user......nor expert..).
Thanks

No I havn't configured enigma as I have only ever done it through the OSD that I din't have on the box I am testing with at the moment. I have definitely identified that it is a tuning problem and in the debug line can see it is looking at 19.2 and not 28.2.
I will look to see how to setup enigma by editing conf files.
Thanks for your help and all the wrok you are doing.
I am now confident that vtuner is working, it is a matter of setting up enigma.

The source code on the vtuner website for vtunerc does not match the version of vtunerd.mipsel, one of the parameters shows 166667 or something like that when it should be 1 on a working interface.
The downloadable version on the vtuner website, vtunerc.i686 matches the version of the vtunerd.mipsel(dreambox) daemon, but I think it is an older interface.
Would it be possible for someone to build the vtunerd.mipsel binary on the dreambox openpli environment then it should be possible to use the latest interface.

I had the same problem - vtunerd built binary is other than module and vtuner-client built from sources and i cannot make it work...
Maybe someone have STM2.3 devkit installed and can build newest vtunerd for sh4

My system is a Intel Core 2 Duo E6600 6GB RAM with Nvidia 9600GT Green Power 512MB RAM.
Usually I play without any problem 1080p video with VLC or MPLAYER2 (-vc x11). These software use CPU for decoding video and play movie is very fine. CPU usage is about 70%
But I cannot play 1080 HD video stream or recoderd movie using openpliPC.
As you know openpliPC use xine libraries and these libs use VDPAU.
VDPAU use Nvidia GPU as coprocessor for decoding video stream. The idea is GPU is more specialized and powerful than CPU to do decoding process.
If I play an HD movie .ts with MPLAYER2 using VDPAU (-vc vdpau -vo ffmpegh264vdpau) CPU usage is about 4% (yes ! VDPAU is working) but HD movie has many freeze. It's impossible to watch them.
QUESTION: Nvidia 9600GT (used by VDPAU) doesn't meet minimum performance to decode HD channels ?
ANSWER: I've just pushed to openpliPC two userful sw: vdpauinfo and qvdpautest . With them you can have infos about VDPAU and answer to the question above.
From README:
4) If you are interested you can compile vdapauinfo and qvdpautest
(building qvdpautest require install qt4-dev-tools (100 MB))
./build_vdpauinfotest.sh
You can find binaries under libs/vdpauinfo-0.0.6/ and libs/qvdpautest-0.5.1/
Below is the result running qvdpautest in my system.
cd openpliPC/
cd libs/qvdpautest-0.5.1/
./qvdpautest
As you can see, my 9600GT has very poor VDPAU performance, less powerful than using simple CPU for decoding process
is not able to decode MPEG2 HD video with frame/sec. > 43
is not able to play H264 HD video with frames/sec. > 18
is not able at all to decode any MPEG4 video
So, if you have problems with HD channels, run qvdpautest and see benchmark.
My solution: I've just bought a Nvidia GTX550

Nvidia 320M is more powerful but probably can be problem watching 1080p @ 50Hz coded with H264 : max frame rate is 45 frames/sec.
