I upgraded to kernel 4.15 so there is no need to re-install E2 once again.

No, not only dvbsoftwareca. It is necessary to correct decsa.h and edvbdemux.h, at least. And maybe something else. On the kernel 4.15 the compilation e2pc is terminated with an error.

i installed a patched xine-lib-1.9  outside the directory and  it is detected by enigma .

the problem was the logo.mvi  , and the files libjpeg8-dev and libjpeg8-turbo-dev .

Great work. Can you help as printing does not work from within plugins? Also is there a fix segmentation error on exit?

mickd, did you mean start without plugins or some problems with plugins? I couldn't find the cause of the segfault on exit. Most likely, problems with the software environment.
I suppose that it is necessary to compile the PC image, and not the program separately. But we use a full distribution, not an image.

@1455 I would like to test plugins within e2pc. Sometimes it is necessary to have print statements within the code to help debug but for me nothing is printed. Thanks

In kernel 4.14 and 4.15, the file ca.h no longer contains "ca_pid_t" and "CA_SET_PID" for some reason. Therefore, the archive contains the corrected file, which when starting the build script will be copied to 2 locations. Thus, now you can use new kernels.

@1455 dvbsoftwareca is compiled just fine using kernel 4.15 ... thank you  :)

It will be awesome if you can solve that infinite loop tuning problem as well.

Since the topic is called "Build Script for Openpli Enigma2 on Ubuntu", now to save traffic only scripts need to be downloaded.

Try on 18.04 LTS. Added lirc build script.
I have a problem with lirc repeats when using "irsend". When the remote control button is released, the lircd client is constantly reconnecting. In this case video and audio is broken. If I don't using repeats, everything is OK. This is a question to author Alec Leamas.

Hi there, I'm a ubuntu Noob and try to get engima2 running on ubuntu 17.10. I followed the steps here:

https://github.com/Raider05/enigma2pc

On step 3 I got errormessage while executing ./build_openpliPC.sh. The errormessage says that libtool isn't the correct version.

Then I found https://cloud.mail.r.../97G7/BPBnDtJxz and downloaded enigma2pc-6.1(2).tar.bz2

Now I'm not sure what to do.. Do I have to replace all the files in the enigma2pc folder with the ones from the downloaded archive? And then execute ./INSTALL_ALL?

What is the correct way? Can somebody give me a hint please?

Thx alot

hubinho

If you are a newbe, then use LTS releases only. See README.EN.  Although the scripts are designed for a first installation of Ubuntu and should do everything automatically, but I don't advise to begin with  this. First, learn the basics.
Then download current archive and run the scripts in order in the terminal as root and see what is writting. Look for words "error".

Thank you 1455 for your reply and advice!

Yesterday I installed Ubuntu 18.04 LTS and tried to run the scripts separately one after the other. As far as I could see everything went fine.. then while running "5_build_openpliPC" some errors occured and the script stopped. Unfortunately I didn't copy the whole errormessages but the errors were in section "dvbsoftwareca" and sayed something like old functions weren't found or used anymore. Something like: ca_descr-t not found, please use caddr_t.. Do you have an idea why this problem occured?

After that I installed Ubuntu 16.04.4 and tried again. This time I was unable to build 3_build_libxine.sh. In my opinion it's not possible to clone xine-lib-1.2-vdpau from the repository: https://anonscm.debian.org/hg/xine-lib

Your post yesterday would confirm that. What can I you now? Do we have to wait until it's online again or is there a workaround or another source to clone xine-lib-1.2-vdpau?

And in general, which ubuntu version would you recommend my to get e2pc running? Does it run on 16.04 with Kernel 4.13?

And yes, I'm sill working on learning the basics.. :)
