Hello,

I have a request but I'm not sure if it is possible with XMLTV Import.
I often put my box to deep standby for the night and then it wakes up early in the morning in order to import EPG and then it remains turned on on the same channel as before going to deep standby.
Would it be possible for XMLTV Import to return to the same state as it was before import?
I mean, if it was in deep standby, it would return to deep standby after import and if it was in standby it would return to standby:

Deep standby -> Wake up -> Import -> Deep standby
Standby -> Import -> Standby

Now the box always stays turned on.
Is it just me who would expect such functionality? Sorry to bother you.

This would be a good addition to the import!!

A very simple workaround is to disable the timer and set the import to run at startup.

I do enter deep standby every time I am not watching tv. Box will import epg every time I turn it on. That's something I do not want.

Yes, MiLo, this is a workaround but as skalita says, if you put your box to deep standy 3-4 times a day, you wouldn't like to import EPG so many times every day.
Would it be possible to put my proposal on your "to do list" for EPGImport?

Teh technical issue was that the importer can't reliably detect why the system started (timer, import, user, ...). That can be circumvented by showing a message box on screen that prompts to press a key on the RC to abort the automatic shutdown after import when the importer sees that it booted just in time to do the import.

I would vote for an option afterImport, where default value is 'do nothing' and other choices are 'standby' and 'deepstandby'. In the beginning we could skip a dialog for simplicity. Most of us choose to import epg at night when nobody is watching, so it would be enough.

And thanks OpenPli team for all your work.

Yes. And because I always put my box to deep standby for the night, when I get up in the morning the box is always on, which triggered my idea of the box returning to its previous state after import (in this case returning to deep standby).
So for me, deep standby would be the preferred default option.
But on the other hand, what if something was being recorded at night and suddenly the box would be going to deep standby after EPG import.
Well, the solution is not so simple if EPGImport does not know the state it was in before performing the import.
Anyway, props to developers for their great work.

I am pretty sure the box will not turn off, after import is done, if recording is in progress. It is similiar to pressing the standby button on the remote when recording is on, the box waits until recording is done.

I suppose another option is to configure a timer event to for example, put the box back into deep standby after the EPG update is finished.
For example
- At midnight, the box goes into deep standby
- At 04:00, it wakes itself up to update the EPG
- At 04:30, a timer event puts the box back into deep standby ( of couse, if a recording is in progress, the standby operation is postponed until the recording is finished)

I don't know if the timed standby event feature is possible.
