Hi,
I don't want to make a revolution in XMLTV sources but I think it would make sense to list a separate source in Rytec sources: FTA.
Let me explain why. All big packages like Sky Germany, Sky Italia, Canalsat France etc. carry some channels which can be viewed by anyone (FTA channels) and everybody can have access to them without subscribing to this package. However, to have access to EPG for those FTA channels one has to download EPG for the whole package. It would be useful to have a separate category: FTA which would include only FTA channels from all packages.
It could also be divided among the most popular orbital positions: FTA 13E. FTA 19.2E, etc.
I realize, though, this is lots of work.
What do others think about this proposal?

I'll try to help by preparing a set of entries which already exist in various sections of rytec.channels.xml (Rytec Italy, Rytec Germany etc.) for the most popular FTA channels on 13E and 19.2E.

I think when you place the attached files in /etc/epgimport
and select the FTA entries you will only import the selected FTA channels.

Hi,

Thanks. It works very well, with one exception though. The import stops at FTA Hungary.
This is due to the following line in FTA.sources.xml:
<source type="gen_xmltv" channels="FTAc.channels.xml">
The "c" must be removed and everything goes well.

Of course, the FTA.channels.xml file can be extended with some more FTA channels. Actually, I already have a few channels in mind.
But is anyone else is interested in FTA sources or is it just me?
