Hello PLi forum

I just found out that there is a new version of the et-webbrowser available on the OpenPLi feed (downloadable plug-in list)
http://www.et-view.d...2.html#post4887
What is the main difference between the newest version of the et-webbrowser and the previous version?
Does it fully support USB-HID?
Is it only applicable for the et9x00? Or is there also the et-webbrowser availble for the et6x00 on the OpenPLi feed?
And is it possible to find out if there is a separate webbrowser.ipk file available for et6x00?
Please let me know. Thank you

We did not get a changelist... but now there are two plugins. One is the actial webbrouwser and the other one is giving a nice screen with pictures and contains links. One thing that is improved is that more streams are working. E.g. Uitzending gemist (Missed transmissions) via HbbTV in the Netherlands are now streamable. For the E6x00 we did not get an upgrade yet. If the one of the ET9x00 is functional I can but that one on our server.

You mentioned that "there are two plugins." What the names of the plugin? One is et-webbrowser. What is the other one?

So when do you think that the webbrowser for et6000 is going to come out? or a better way to put it: When will you get an upgrade of et6x00 webbrowser?

Thank you for your reply

I have tried to install enigmaplugin-extensions-et-webbrowser_1.r0_et9x00.ipk on the ET6000 through DreamExplorer.
however it says:
Unknown package 'en2-plugin-extensions-et-webbrowser'.
Collected errors:
* pkg_hash_fetch_best_installation_candidate: Packages for en2-plugin-extensions-et-webbrowser found, but incompatible with the architectures configured
* opkg_install_cmd: Cannot install package en2-plugin-extensions-et-webbrowser.
Execution finished!!
Is there any way to flash the webbrowser on et6000?

It's named ET-Weblinks-1.0
Most problems can be solved simply by a closer look.

It is not on the downloadable plugin list -> extension -> et-webbrowser - can't find it.
the only way you can download and install from openPLi feed is through:

MENU> SETUP > SOFTWARE MANAGMENT > ADVANCED OPTIONS > PACKET MANAGEMENT
> enigma2-plugin-extensions-et-webbrowser > OK(Remote Control) >
MENU> yes > reboot GUI
After reboot, press the blue button on remote control > choose web browser.
Then you can use webbrowser for ET6000 which is version 1.1 (newest one.)”

What I want is to be able to download the webbrowser for et6000 on the plugin list (menu-> plugin- > green button download ->extension)

I have downloaded
enigma2-plugin-extensions-et-webbrowser_1.1-r0_et6x00.zip from the site above.
I tried to install the ipk through dreamexplorer, however it says:
Execution Progress:

Installing enigma2-plugin-extensions-et-webbrowser (1.1-r0) to root...
Collected errors:
* opkg_install_pkg: Package enigma2-plugin-extensions-et-webbrowser md5sum mismatch. Either the opkg or the package index are corrupt. Try 'opkg update'.
*opkg_install_cmd: cannot install package enigma2-plugin-extensions-et-webbrowser.
Execution finished!!

I have tried this process on OpenPLi-2.1-beta- image (2011-12-21)
Let me know how you have installed this ipk file from et-view.de

Hi,

MD5 checksum error is due to the fact that littlesat has already uploaded the IPK-Package to the 3rd-Party et6x00 Feed, where it will be supplied! So just easily install from Menu -> Extensions -> Press Green button to choice available Plugins directly from feed. Open Extensions and select et-webbrowser, press OK-Button and it will be downloaded and installed. After that restart E2 or whole STB.

Hi,

that's before it was only supplied on et-view.de, but now we have put it on feed for very comfortable Installation for Xtrend-Users who have connected their STB to the Internet. Using HbbTV/Webbrowser Feature without Internet access does make much scense ;)

hello daddelfalk

no the webbrowser version on feed for et6x00 was wrong... (must be edited the lines with "writeToVFD")
the et6000 has no "VFD" it also crashed when openening "open("/dev/dbox/oled0", "w")"
update/cancel this lines is "plugin.py" and "mediaplayer.py" and it also working :) on et6x00

The ET5x00 does not have enough RAM for the Webbrouwser... so there will never be a Webbrouwser for the ET5x00.
