Hi guys,

I cannot login using ssh with the root password. I'm not sure if an update has done this, as I have updated the software recently.
I have never changed this password from the default.

I have added a single user to shell using adduser before this issue occured.

Is this something that an update has caused?

I can FTP to the using root and the password.

Cheers
Mark

The default root password is empty, which is no problem for telnet and ftp.
SSH however requires a password and won't accept an empty one.

You should first logon with telnet and then change the root password with the passwd command.
After doing this, you should be able to logon with SSH.

Did you assign a password before the flash, then use that password.
If not, did you reboot after the flash? Reboot it and check if it works then.

Hi,

Recently I've bought an ET9200 box.
I've flashed few minutes ago this OpenPLI image: http://downloads.pli...0120420_usb.zip

I can't login into the box using telnet neither ssh.

Is the issue solved?

Should be, but you can allways install plugin extension changerootpassword and reset it to gain control again.
It is possible that an unknown password is restored from the autobackup right after you flashed the image.

I've flashed the image again, and now it seems is working... I'm not sure, but prbably was my mistake.

I think you might have downloaded the image just before the fix was built.
