Or better can you please generate only the enigma2.pot file during build, so .po files are not changed but latest enigma2.pot file is always available on github.

I'm having problems understanding the process of generating the .pot file. Would you mind going through the process step by step for one not very proficient in Linux?
I've tried numerous ways of doing it myself, but I just end up with a rabbit hole of dependency errors I could not figure out how to resolve.
I've installed a ubuntu server 14.04 LTS on a virtual machine and tried, among other things, these steps:
- git clone https://github.com/OpenPLi/enigma2.git
- (some commands to install necessary dependencies, autoconf, automake etc)
- ./configure --with-po
- tried to build the image, with no success.
Whatever I try, it ends up with errors. If there is an easier and more convenient way to generate the pot file, I would very much like some guidance.

1) git clone https://github.com/OpenPLi/enigma2.git
2) in configure.ac comment all PKG_CHECK and AC_CHECK lines
3) cd enigma2
4) ./autogen.sh
5) ./configure --with-po
6) cd po
7) make *.po
in enigma2/po you'll find updated .pot and all .po files
True sarcasm doesn't need green font...

Thanks, blzr, at last there are no errors, and the .pot file generated successfully. The commenting did the trick.
