Dear all,

This is my first post on the forum, I acquired an ET-5000 a time ago and I really like the experience so far. And I'd like to continue improving this experience :)

I came accross the forum because I want to know what software my device is running. I read in the forums that I should have the official et-firmware. However, whenever I start it up I get a blue splash with OpenPLi, and everywhere else it seems to indicate so. See attachment with the about screen.

I also noticed that I cannot install plugins anymore. After a bit of reading I run opkg update and this is what I get:

root@et5000:~# opkg update

I guess I have to upgrade the firmware. Can anyone situate me a bit? Do I have openpli? If so, how can upgrade to openpli-2.1?

Thanks a lot,

Yes you need to update Bootloader and install openpli 2.1 version.

Because from openpli 2.0 to openpli2.1 changed a lot you need to install the full image.
This can been done through an USB stick.

Download bootloader in attachment and place on USB disk.
Download et5x00 software from this site and place on USD disk.
Start box with usb stick and bootloader will been installed automatic.
After box is start redo and start box again. Now an orange led will light up, press now arrow up button on the frontpanel to start loading. If good the orange and green led will light up and the box will restart after everything is done.

Thanks for your reply. Just to be on the safe side, is there a way to back up the contents of the box (just to cover the worst-case scenario)?
