Hi all!

I wonder if anyone know of any plugin etc. to enable parental control at certain times for selected channels? The parent control built in the image works great but, unfortunately, lack the ability to select start and end time for the PIN requirement.

In the nordic region it is common for a channel to display one content at daytime and another after hours. Many standard recievers have this feature I ask for, but Enigma does not. But maybe this can be implemented in comming releases?

Something is already standard in PLi... You can set an timeout (standard one hour...) when you enter a correct PIN it is not required to reenter the PIN for that hour,,,

WaveFrontier 28.2E | 23.5E | 19.2E | 16E | 13E | 10/9E | 7E | 5E | 1W | 4/5W | 15W

Thanks, but that's not what I'm looking for, I'll try to clarify;

For instance Channel Explorer/Spice that send documentary from 10 0'clock to 22 and adult content from 22 to 02.00:

Here I would like to specify that the parental lock pin code should be active between 22 and 02.00 for this channel, the rest of the time the channel should be unprotected.
Likewise with some film channels that broadcast regular movies around the clock except between 0.00 and 02.00 when they show adult content. For these I would like to PIN protect the channel only during the hours that I know adult content might be shown.

Now I have to block these channels completely, and that is unnecessary.

To put it simple: When I specify what channel i want to protect with parental lock, I miss the option to specify for wich period of time during the day that the PIN lock should be active, that I have on standard recievers.

I don't think that is possible at the moment.

The parental lock indicator is part of the channel configuration file, adding time periods to it means changing the file format, which breaks everything that relies on that format. It is a very major change...

Currently in use: VU+ Duo 4K (2xFBC S2), VU+ Solo 4K (1xFBC S2), uClan Usytm 4K Ultimate (S2+T2), Octagon SF8008 (S2+T2), Zgemma H9.2H (S2+T2)

Due to my bad health, I will not be very active at times and may be slow to respond. I will not read the forum or PM on a regular basis.

Did you try the KiddyTimer Plugin? As far as I can see that does what you want.

Thanks for your replies, guys.

@SatKiekerd: As for the kiddy timer plugin, when I read about it it seems that it sets at timer for how many hours the box can be used per day in order to control the amount of time spent in front of the TV. And that is not what I need.

I'm after a way to set that "Channel A" can't be seen between 22.00 and 02.00 everyday without entering the PIN code. Today, the only option is to set that "Channel A" can't be seen without a PIN code.
In short, what I need is a way to set for which time the parental lock should be active, per channel.

@WanWizard: Would it not be possible to keep the indicator as part of the channel configuration file and store the time information elsewhere?

Ideally you would want the kiddy timer functionality (which would tell you when the box is usable), combined with a per-service timer (which would tell you when a service is usable), both overridable by the parental lock PIN.

That should be possible, but requires quite some work on the E2 side. So a dev must me willing to take this on (or someone must be willing to code this and contribute the code)...
