Hi pieterg,

 

I took technics patch (post #122) and adapted it, because it didn't run properly for me (perhaps I made somewhere a mistake...). I don't use a mutex, because I think it's not really necessary. I have added a new function isStream, because I didn't like to change valid function to return true even when connection is not established yet.

I hope you'll have some minutes to look at it. I think there are many people who don't like to wait 10 seconds if stream is not available

Saving timeshift files only works for ts streams(with service ref 1:...) and normal dvb broadcasts and not for other stream with 4097:...

I am glad to see my patches are useful. Thank you for improves and getting them upstream. Now my iptv plugin can redirect link in bouquets to dynamic streams.

There are some live rtsp streams that offer rewind capability. Can this capability be used with enigma2 somehow?

Question to start with, does gstreamer support winding in rtsp streams?
If so, the amount of work might be relatively small, 'just' pass the servicemp3 seek events to gstreamer. Or rather, fix the way they are passed right now, if it doesn't work right away.

If gstreamer doesn't yet support winding in rtsp streams, a lot more work will be needed.

As this method of adding a buffer doesn't work, is there a working solution to add a buffer ?

 

Hickups in streams can be solved by adding buffer=1 or buffer=2 at the end of the url....

Are you replying to my post ?  If so the url quoted is from you and there isn't a space.

On my iPad it just look like there was a space in between... but with buffer=1 you should indeed get a buffer... you can also try buffer=2. Then it may use another type of buffering... But what are the exact symptoms?

It's not just me, as you can see, doesn't work for others either.

 

 

When i add buffer=1 or buffer=2 the stream won't even start anymore :S

even if i remove the / behind the 2 then no succes

 

 

as i haven't tryed it before ... i tryed the buffer=2 solution today ... without success

What are the symptoms.... do you get a picture or do you get nothing. What happens without the buffer???

The urls I use I have transferred to a bouquet from a plugin where they are allocated a buffer and work 100% ok.

 

I get a picture all the time on all channels, some channels are ok others have video 'stuttering' and audio 'squelching'
