After last update, about 10-15 days ago, my box started freezing up occassionaly, and it always happens in standby mode. Even the clock on the display freezes and keeps showing the time when it happened. I did one more update after it happened, but today it froze up again, after 3-4 days uptime.

Did anyone else have the same problem?

This is happening at the same time? For example, at 5 am? If so, it probably epg plugin gets the program, and your box gets full ram.

I had this problem last night, exactly the same thing.
Had to do a hard reset.
It had nothing to do with a plugin.
probably something with starting a recording session, wasn't even watching live TV
Don't see that it has something to do with RAM, there was nothing exceptional running, something that use to give problems in the past
It is something that's seems to happen since kernel+firmware upgrade on 4/1/2012,

It's not happening at the same time, and it has nothing to do with any plugin, since I didn't install any new plugin for a long time. It started happening after updating to new kernel and firmware.

Same here on DM8000, but it happens while recording (from standby or not) and sometime during recording/watching other recorded programs. The picture stops, the audio runs for several more seconds and then all freezes. No crash logs, only cold reboot fixes it for a while till it happens again. And yes, it start to happen from about january.

Cheers

I have the same problem on my vu+ duo when watching a recorded program. The picture stops, but the audio continues. I can however stop the playback and then resume the playback and all is good again. This problem didn't exist on the old kernel version.

My vuduo is freezing too. Usually at night when receiver is in standby. It happens maybe twice or three times a week. This behaviour started with new kernel. Cant say why because i cant provide logs but i guess there is problem with drivers.

For anybody interested in a VU+ duo image of 28-12-2011
You can find one here: http://image.benben.nu/

Working troublefree for me with CCcam 2.0.9 since 4-2-2012
no freezes anymore

But install 2.3.0 and you're in trouble again. Fortunately no freezes, but definately quite a few glitches that are very annoying.

Currently in use: VU+ Duo 4K (2xFBC S2), VU+ Solo 4K (1xFBC S2), uClan Usytm 4K Ultimate (S2+T2), Octagon SF8008 (S2+T2), Zgemma H9.2H (S2+T2)

Due to my bad health, I will not be very active at times and may be slow to respond. I will not read the forum or PM on a regular basis.

So your statement is that CCcam 2.3.0 is the real troublemaker?
I tried the newer images also with Hypercam and had the same problems
IMHO its the latest VU drivers thats causing the troubles

although not for everyone it seems

And in the meantime many users reverted to CCcam 2.2.1 and still experience the 'freezing troubles'.

All I can say is that this combination is working troublefree for me

Freezes etc. are no longer an issue
(except when I look out the window  )

All I'm saying is that there is something fishy going on between the VU drivers and CCcam. Which might have to do with the handling of the smartcard data within the driver.

My observation is that

kernel 3.1.1 + cccam 2.3.0 is a sure disaster

kernel 2.6.18 + cccam 2.3.0 is more stable but has frequent glitches in the video

kernel 3.1.1 + cccam 2.2.1 is not much more stable then 2.3.0

kernel 2.6.18 + cccam 2.1.1 works like a charm
And for some reason other cams don't seem to have this issue...

Currently in use: VU+ Duo 4K (2xFBC S2), VU+ Solo 4K (1xFBC S2), uClan Usytm 4K Ultimate (S2+T2), Octagon SF8008 (S2+T2), Zgemma H9.2H (S2+T2)
