As currently coded it appears the picon folder is searched for under / , /usr/share/enigma2 , or ANY other mounted filesystem, /media/usb, /media/cf, /media/hdd, etc. I'm not sure why you'd want to change that behavior, it would probably be easier to just move your picon folder if it isn't on the filesystem root of the desired mounted device (usb, cf, hdd, etc.)...

For instance, History HD on 28.2E has reference 1_0_86_F2E_7EC_2_11A0000_0_0_0, and my corresponding picon png file is 1_0_19_F2E... The rest is all the same.
As I said, all the same picons used to work perfectly with any skin, on PLi 2.1 image and with Likra's settings which I am using since the first day with my Vu+ duo.
The question is - what has changed, and why my service references don't correspond to picon codes anymore?

Hi,
Why change the picon.py while it is so simple to create a symlink?
mkdir /usr/share/enigma2/picon ln -s /usr/share/enigma2/picon My_Source_Path_To_picon
you can place your picon wherever you want and juste create a symlink.

Hi,
Sorry, I made a typo error.
So open up a telnet session on your box.
Then type:
ln -s /media/usb/picon /usr/share/enigma2/picon
So this concrete exemple picons are located in /media/usb/picon you need to adapt this for your particular case, so no need to change any .py file for this.
If you already type my previous commands please do a:
rmdir /usr/share/enigma2/picon

There is absolutely no need to create links to /media/usb/picon, if that folder contains picons the picon renderer is smart enough to pick that up. If you added picons to the stick without "telling" E2 about it (which is, any method that does not involve an ipk package) just remove the stick and put it back, this will cause it to look for a picon directory again.
Creating such a symlink will only make things slower, as it causes the renderer to search the same path twice.

you have to make a folder called " picon " on the usb and put your picons in the folder.
reboot the box
