any news about this problem? I was update image and see some new version for it913x drivers. but still usb stick just disconnect after few minutes, sometimes a little bit longer. so I have to go back on some vix image with kernel 3.1 where everything works fine

I think the patch in attachment may fix the USB disconnection problem. Due to a bug, the loop that reads/writes bulk USB messages is run only one time, so if the USB bus is busy a failure is very likely. With the patch the driver should retry up to 10 times before giving up.

Pieterg, can you push it?

sypo, your problem is impossible to solve as there is not enough information. It seems the driver is loading properly, but Enigma2 fails to detect the stick and connect it to the vtuner, and after several retries it crashes.

I bought this tuner recently, I checked it only for new kernel 3.3
Colleagues wrote that on earlier versions of the tuner to work without any problems.
If I can somehow help to write what I do.

I received this response to et-view-support:

The driver has gone throught changes from kernels 3.2 to 3.4. All of them related to version 2 chips.
Version 1 chips also go from using dvb-usb-it9137-01.fw to dvb-usb-it9135-01.fw in kernel 3.3.
dvb-core also has also ungone changes kernel 3.3 coverting all frontends to dvbv5 during this period, there appear to fixes for bugs in kernel 3.4-rc4.

So Gennar1's fix doesn't help you?

I have a chip version 2, from what I understand the path solves the problem of access to the USB chip to version 1
So do not install this patch.

The fix will benefit all models. Anyway, I'm not sure your problem is related to this bug. Nevertheless, it's worth a try.

As the ET support explained, this driver has been under heavy development for the last 2 kernel cicles. All the patches from kernel 3.4-rc* are already merged in the OpenPli 3.3 kernel. This last one was posted just a couple of days ago and it's not even on the experimental tree yet. So there is nothing more we can do (as we don't have the hardware in our hands).

no, not working. after 2 hours I was try to stream dvbt channel on my samsung galaxy s+, and after 10-15s, it just stoped. cant post dmseg right now, cause cant copy text from telnet of mobile phone, but as I can read, it disconnect usb again, and dmesg is similar to dmesg I was post before.
about patch, I dont know to put patch manualy in box, so I just make online image update. after that, I was checked usb drivers and see it913x date is 9.5.2012. so it must be the new.

I will regularly check the linux-media mailing list for driver updates.

Can you try your stick on a Linux PC to see if you have the same problems?
For sure you are not alone, as there are people also on the Vuplus community forum with the same problem.

I found new drivers for it913x and hope it will solve the "usb disconnect" problem on kernel 3.3 and above. but somebody need to compile this first. last time, member wallie2000 do it very well.

few days ago, I was found on pli feed that somebody compile new driver for this chipset: kernel-module-dvb-usb-913x linux-etxx00 version 3.4.3.-r1.8
but it doesn't help much. "usb disconnect" again after few minutes :(((((

problem is in kernel, not in driver, until version 3.3, everything was work fine

software management, advanced options, packet management and then find new driver. first uninstall previous version, reboot, find and install new driver, firmware is the same.
dvb-usb-it9135-01.fw and dvb-usb-it9137-01.fw is for chip 1.
I noticed that streaming 2 or more service from same transponder is now disabled by default. and after long test "usb disconnect" comes later, after 2-3 hours! it's happend after latest pli update from today.
