When I have finished using my VU, I always power it down via the remote control.
I put the remote inside a drawer with plenty of space, so it's nothing to do with buttons being pressed.

For some time now, my VU powers up on it's own and randomly selects a channel.
It seems to be happening more frequently.

Is there a logical reason for this happening?

Only I have access to the VU.

Maybe it's the plugin EPG-refresh?

I do realise that epg-refresh will do that, but I have it set to download at 02:45 in the morning.

My box can randomly turn on at any time.

What really worries me is that as the channel it powers up to is so random, it does on occasions select a porn channel and I am concerned that my family will stumble across this when flicking through the inputs on my television and then think that I have been viewing it.

My family do NOT use the VU as they are not tech minded at all.

They just stick with SkyUK.

most likely: crash + reboot.
Install and enable the 'startup in standby' plugin.
