I recently switched from DM7020 to ET9000 and have noticed the PQ on SD is not as good as compared to my old DM7020, is there a way to improve it? or should I move to DM box like DM800HD SE I will lose the twin tuner on this but I don't care much.

Both the et9000 and dm800se and use the same 7413 chip, so there should be no difference.
Only difference could be in the defaults of the scaler sharpness settings, which you can tweak yourself.

The dm7020's SoC's driver probably has "enhanced" "improved" picture scaling, in other words, it's messes around with the picture, I hate that. Learn to live with it that SD isn't HD I'd say.

dm7020 = ibm stbx45xx, sd only, no scaling.

Oh yeah stupid of me, it's the scart and the tv that do the "enhancement". I can't count how many times I've seen this complaint...

Yes, a very common mistake, people have tweaked their TV for the scart input, and do not realise that the hdmi input still has 'showroom' settings.

... and also don't realise their tv set (and their stb as well) do all kinds of "enhancements" to make SD "viewable", and then they get used to the "enhancements"...
