Hi everybody.
It seems like the default PLI HD skin does not support Plicons.
So can somebody tell me, which of the HD skins that supports Plicons?

I have installed Plicons from the plugin download section for 0.8W and 4.8E, but they does not show up on the channel list nor on the infobar.

Well, then I must be totally stupid, because I cannot get Plicons to work on the default PLi-HD skin. Are they shown both on the infobar and in the channel list?
Is there a on/off setting for showing Plicons in the setup somewhere?

Well, I haven't tried EPG, but my "zap screen" which I believe is referred to as "infobar" by E2, does not contain/show any kind of Picon.
The folder \picon exists in the root folder and are full of small png files.

There is another standard picon folder:

/picon

This is the default folder where they are installed.

Any media you attach which has a /picon folder that contains png files should work. Regardless of the name or where it is mounted. So even if you mount a stick as /media/my_funky_thingy you can still use it for picons. The only exception to this is /usr/share/enigma2/picon/ because that's a "historical" location.

True for the infobar but not true for cooltvguide.

...because there are used same paths as is there in original picon.py. PLi has modified this file.

Ask the author to fix it then :) I'd do it for him, but his sources are closed.

Hey guys, can we please get this thread back to focus on my problem? :-)
I still can't get picons to work on my VU+ Uno with default PLi HD skin (I prefer this skin as all danish special characters are shown correctly in this skin).
The picons are there in \picon as I can view them with a file viewer.

Nowhere are the picons shown: zap/infobar, graphical EPG, Cooltvguide....

As I wrote in my first post:

for 0.8W and 4.8E

I suggest it could be related to settings.... Sometimes it is confusing... 0.8 W could be 1.0 W aswell and 4.8E as 5E.... Then indeed picons could not be found.

So what you are saying, is that the name of the sat is important, and must match a specific name for picons to work?

Picons are matched on service reference, not on name. And the orbital position is part of the service reference.

Currently in use: VU+ Duo 4K (2xFBC S2), VU+ Solo 4K (1xFBC S2), uClan Usytm 4K Ultimate (S2+T2), Octagon SF8008 (S2+T2), Zgemma H9.2H (S2+T2)

Due to my bad health, I will not be very active at times and may be slow to respond. I will not read the forum or PM on a regular basis.

That is also what I assumed. So it is still a mystery why picons are not working on my VU Uno.

I'll help if I can, but I'm on OpenPLi E1 for DM500S. In Menu > System Settings > User Interface settings > OSD Settings - I see an option Show plicons

I'd be surprised if a similar option did not exist in PLi E2 images. So see if you can find this then make sure this option is ticked.

Cheers- AL :)
