I have a DM500HD running a fairly recent version of OpenPLi (E2) and would like to reboot it every morning.

I have seen advice on how to do this, but, it required crontab to be running on the box. I do not think it is at the moment because if I try anything, such as crontab -e then it tells me "crontab: chdir(/var/spool/cron/crontabs): No such file or directory"

The instructions I've seen mention going into the Settings, Services to run option but I cannot see anything on the menus that looks like this - can anyone help, please?

Run the following:

opkg install busybox-cron

Then you can use "crontab -e" to edit the crontab like on any linux system.

Just out of curiousity: Why do you want to reboot it every morning? I never reboot mine unless it's absolutely necessary.

Thanks. Not sure if I got the syntax right as it tells me "Unknown package 'busybox-crontab'.

I typed "opkg install busybox-crontab".

The reason is that I have to restart the box on a regular basis - at least every other day - as it has lost contact with my router. This is fine when I'm here and remember to check, but, is no good when I am away from home. So, if I can do this every night then I know it won't be off for long.

What's wrong then? Or is the router just broken?

Don't know - just know that I have to power off/on most days!!!!! Router is fine with all other devices, so, not convinced that's the problem.
