i think a lot of user will be happy with

and a new Version for PLI 3.0 will come...

but i think we need 2-4 weeks for it...

because, we had no beta before, and now we must upgrade all plugins at the same time like EMC, CoolTVGuide and else...

and also a new Guide will come too... Cool Channel Guide

Hi @Coolman,
is also EMC ( enhanced movie center ) yours?
It also is a nice tool/plugin for our enigma2 . Great work !
any small problems i have to face on openpli 3.0 :
3.00 . 708 version on openpli 3.0 with skin HDGlass 16 on DM 70320HD --> on OLED no any infobar during playing of movies.
I am using e.g media player or dream explorer to run the movie is all right ( full infobar on OLED will be displayed ).

In movies description there are no Polish characters ( last version with proper PL characters was 2.0.2 , ) .

I'm not complaining and I'm not against this epg plugin.
I just like to point out that making it open source (maybe it is but I cannot find any statement about it) would be even better.
You see what happened to OpenPli or to OpenWebif! The same can happen for cool tv guide.
Compare that with what is happening with DMM itself closing their code....

OpenPli is about open source software for your STB. So we will embrace others that open up their source. Everybody is welcome to do so.

at the beginning from Cool TV Guide comes a member from VIX and told me to help...
i think you know him, its Andy...
so he help me about 2 weeks...
so long till he had the full source in his hand...
after then, i heard nothing more from him !

around 2-3 weeks later oh wonder, a "new" EPG from VIX come out VIX EPG !
they steal me the full source and rename it for VIX !

and thats not all...

at their forum they told to the user, that the VIX EPG is soooo a lot of better and quicker then the Cool TV Guide
and Coolman is a bad coder....

so mirakels tell me,

where you find at VIX EPGs that the sourcecode is from me ?

VIX EPGs = a little, now old Version from Cool TV Guide !!!

and this fact i can verify you !

at this point i told to me...
either i make nothing more...
or i closed all

so now you know why Cool TV Guide is closed and have a Copyright

I understand how you feel. But please don't be guided by how others treat your code in the wrong way. We've ad some 'discussions' with the vix team too and in the end the situation improved but (I don;t know the details) the situation improved. And I;m sure there are many other openpli based images that we don;t know of and keeping things closed. But although we despise such groups and like to stop them but it won't stop us staying open. We have seen openpli become much more popular and widespread know since we made everything available to everyone (and before that we already were the only group giving back most of our code to the dream community, e.g. eniga1)

I tried to find some more info in this vix epg but can't find anything specific So I guess they dropped it or made it invisible (or I did not look hard enough).
But I will ask them anyway!

Although there is a bad party in your case there still is more benefit for opening up your source again unless you want to get explicit commercial/financial advantage out of it.
And yet you may get better commercial/financial profit when going open source as you get more exposure of what and how you have done your coding. Think of the positive side not the negative one!

so you not look really long...

in every image from VIX you will find ViX EPG, ViX QuickEPG, ViX Single EPG....

at the beginning they wrote many thanks for Coolman code...

and now ? yessss i know... they have "forget"

I did not take an image from them.. I use openpli
And yes I did not look very hard, but i tried to look in the their git repos and could not find separate plugins.
If you have a direct link/file to look at that would help me.

Remember that OpenPli only develop an image and not the plugins like Cool TV Guide, complete different policy as we know from VIX (Andy)
Maybe you can talk about the license problems etc. with VIX and the devs on the world-of-satellite-board ! and don't ask attentions at the Pli-board

Pls consider the situation that we can't use Cool TV Guide together with OpenPli 3.0 now. We like your plugin for a long period.
So when can we expected your new plugin (Copyright protected) Cool TV Guide ???

and when no Beta tester find a Bug...

then is not far for V6
