Due to my understanding it is not possible to use for example Hauppauge PCTV 290e T2 usb-tuner stick in DM8000 before kernel 3.x.x. When can we have it? The reason for this question is widely used T2 in Nordic countries today.

hmm, probably you should better ask Dream Multimedia Gmbh
(PLi team has zero control of if and when drivers for new kernel will be released by a manufacturer I'm afraid)
from what I read on different forums/blogs (for several months now) - 'they're working on it and image with new kernel is about to be released 'any day now''
