Hi,

on http://swupdate.open...unity/releases/ I found that the latest release of openvpn is 2.3.12 (aug 2016), and that the version which installs by using the command  opkg install openvpn is 2years old. Unfortunately, as enigma2 supports only ipkg and no tar.gz, the downloadable up-to-date packages found on openvpn.org cannot be installed. Does anybody know if there is a up-to-date ipkg release (2.3.12 or similar) downloadable anywhere?

Thanks!

The packages on openvpn are no good for you STB anyway, completely wrong architecture. Your STB is no Intel...

That link also publishes the source, which we use in our recipe: https://github.com/O...support/openvpn so I guess it could be updated.

Currently in use: VU+ Duo 4K (2xFBC S2), VU+ Solo 4K (1xFBC S2), uClan Usytm 4K Ultimate (S2+T2), Octagon SF8008 (S2+T2), Zgemma H9.2H (S2+T2)

Due to my bad health, I will not be very active at times and may be slow to respond. I will not read the forum or PM on a regular basis.

I guess the main reason for a OpenVPN version that is somewhat older, is the OpenPLi 4 OE environment, that is really out of date. When we switch to 5, OpenVPN will probably be updated as well, no need to work around OE itself.

On the other hand, why is it so imperative that the "newest" version of OpenVPN is used? I found OpenVPN is very good at keeping compatibility with older versions.

OpenPLi 5 will contain "Openvpn - 2.3.2-r0.1".

f23 has 2.3.12, so I guess that's pretty up to date.

As first, hello, long time...., nice to see so many familiar names around

Are you guys already on 2.4.0? I do not have currently any receiver, kinda no need with such a varience of iptv offers, just curious if it is already in version 2.4.0, if no, you guys should update it asap.

Somehow I dislike such argumentation, like why do you need it. Some do need it, some dont, who knows that/if he needs to compile own version, this person is able to compile it without to ask here on this forum.

Mostly the reason for update is some specific bug correction, feature implementation and maybe some performance changes. In example of 2.4.0 is GCM support which does make big difference as openvpn is not anymore restricted to 100mb limit and you don't loose so much on performance like compared to CBC.

Here we do speak about money, as if you use VPN which gives you only 50%, then you pay and get only half of it.

Well, it would be better change only the binnary of openvpn and put it on /usr/sbin, I am sorry to put an ipk ready for a non pli plugin... Mega link removed.

well, I test it and I guess you knew that openpli has libssl1.0.0 and openvpn 2.4 needs libssl1.0.2. I dont have idea if it's difficult or not to add new libraries, if its necessary or not to rebuild enigma... no idea... but you have the key...

Why do you think to be on ignore list? PLi Team, sorry :) openpli team is best team in sat scene, maybe they just wait with their reply until they know exactly what to reply. If users ask for that, then they will upgrade it very fast, dont worry, just let them some time to make all required checks and tests, they for sure don't want to enable you superfast VPN and break some features like simple watching TV. :), but we know they are fast, and they will do their tests and publish it soon, probably latest moment will be when all vpn providers start offering openvpn with gcm. Currently, most who could profit are those who use their own openvpn servers, like on simple router.

Next week I will have access to an xtrend and could probably create installation package if I find time for that.
