How do you know their closed-source C++ code does not contain something 'borrowed' from our open source C++ code?
What all this fuss is about? DMM just switched to newer kernel and adopted interesting features that were already available in their competitors' products. They didn't copy OpenPLI and OpenPLI didn't steal anything from DMM.
I don't. I was actually taking about 3.2 kernel usage, not the closed source enigma2 code.

I just try to compile openpli for dm8000 with kernel 3.2 I just changed the git branch to GIT_BRANCH = dreambox-kernel-3.2 (in make file)
bitbake branch kept on 1.12
Build fails on eglibc log in included. also conf files included and output terminal second try
It seems that kernel headers needed for 3.2 are missing ?

CI+ requires the software to be closed.
Really?
Is CI+ based on obscurity?
IMHO you have a TPM like boot loader not allowing modification of any executable bit ...
But necessarily it is not a hurdle for open source.
Even NDS receivers are linux based nowadays, and GPL license information can be read from user menu (e.g. sky italia)

That branch is mostly for my own convenience, and it (currently) won't finish a compile successfully anyway.
There's probably still a mistake in the .conf somewhere.
Anyway, when it's ready it'll go into the mainline. Until then, it's just there for whomever wants to live on the cutting edge (and thus must expect to bleed).
