I don't have such an USB stick, but I think you need to install:
kernel-module-carl9170 and firmware-carl9170
From telnet type:
opkg install kernel-module-carl9170
opkg install firmware-carl9170
kernel-module-carl9170 and firmware-carl9170

opkg install kernel-module-carl9170
opkg install firmware-carl9170
