For Atmolight you cannot use the Karatelight-config. You need to replace the /etc/boblight.conf file with the matching Atmolight config file.

Hello Speedy1985

Thanks for the plugin
I'm trying to get it working

I use an arduino uno with ADAlight library and a strand of 50 RGB LED's (WS2801 based) so I use 150 channels

The Arduino and the LED strand works perfect stand alone.
I have loaded an Boblight interface in the Arduino and connected it , but there is no change in the LED's

What I want to know, when I make changes to the boblight.conf, do I have to stop and start Boblight or restart Enigma2 or do I have to restart the box

There are many variables and it cost a lot of time to restart the box every time.

Do you have sugestions what to try?

I still cannot get an connection to my Arduino
I have installed the kernel-module-ftdi-sio but no result

Has anyone been able to get some data over the USB bus from the Xtrend with Boblight?

On what output?

Not for me
I'm curious, the poster has not responded to my questions here in the forum or via PM.
I believe it is an Dutchman, who does not speak German and English very well.
So I did an PM in this board in Dutch, but he has not respond to the question.

It seems to me that I have a driver problem.
There are to many variables to try them all, boblight config and then the hardware software in karatelight, atmo or Arduino
But there is not an repository, so I'm afraid that it is closed source.

The author has a new version announced
http://www.et-view-s...ull=1#post89057

Just waiting

The Boblight is a great addon if it works, because it lets you use 150 or more channels (3 per RGB LED)
It comes from an XBMC developper, there it is open source

If you use an Arduino or lookalike you can use SPI with only 3 wires
You can take advantage of the new type of LED strips, witch have the ability to assign every LED with a color.
Besides that the cabling is far more easier you only need 2 wires for data and 2 for the +/-

Hello nietgiftig,

now i don't have any arduino interface even if i will get one from a friend soon to test adalight+boblight.
i have read from adafruit forum,
i think you have to put ledstream.pde to your arduino and then test with boblight with proper config file. What do you mean sayng " loading boblight interface"?
you can get ledstream from adafruit git.
Once i will get arduino + led stripe i will begin my tests.

What do you mean sayng " loading boblight interface"?

There are lots of interface routines (ino/pde) in the arduino for LEDstrips, most of them work with PWM and 3 or more separate RGB strips.
For the WS2801 you must use an SPI or Fast SPI based interface.
Ledstream is one of them.
ADA fruit is not the only one who sells this kind of strand.
But I want to use a "normal"kind of ws2801 strip, more easy to use
http://www.alibaba.c...archText=ws2801
I'm going to use a Teensy 2.0 for interface, cheaper and smaller than an Arduino and has USB onboard .

ok
with ledstream ( for ws2801 and lpd8806) from adafruit git on arduino interface, the pulgin boblight should work ( ia have read success on web for this).
i don't know for sure if works with other string (as lpd6803 or other supported by fastspi library).

According adalight tutorial it should work,
you can try ledstream from here:

https://github.com/a...57efb8c/Arduino

or modded from:

http://www.ambilight...m/adalight.html

Have you tried with pc hosted progd like lightpack or atmowin?

No i have not

I have an linux HTPC with XBMC, but on linux you have to compile your own boblightd deamon but i not have the time to try that at this time
http://code.google.c.../wiki/Compiling
This is dependent from you configuration, every linux version has his own configuration.
That is why I suspect that there is a difference between the ET9000, DM8000 etc
Besides that, the original boblight deamon works like a server, but in boblight config for Enigma2 the settings are not been used.

The problem is that my knowledge of linux is 1 step above n00b
But I have no communication on the USB port on my ET9000.
So I'm not sure if /dev/ttyusb0 is correct in boblight.conf or that there are different drivers
The interface works, the LEDstream give on start the test colors as described but then all are off

Just waiting for the developer has the time to respond
