Thanks,
I see the compiling is about the same as in the original xbmc boblight wiki,

But I think that the boblight fork from this developer is not mature enough.
Besides that, he does not care to respond and that always puts me off.

With the little knowledge I have from Linux I will try first to get it working on XBMC, there it is is a working add in with a more pro-active help from the developer ;).

Hi all, Pli members.

I have compiled a new Boblight E2 v 0.2r1.
This version works also on openpli 3.0 beta.

Fixes:
- Better cpu load: +/- 23%
- E2 Plugin works better.
- Some bugs are fixed.
- Better fps.

For more information about the config boblight.conf.

Thanks, i will try this one.
I see that there are also changes in the install of the ftdi-sio driver.

The previous ipk did not loaded the driver on my ET9000 correctly

Sorry is not working for me, see atachment

Something wrong with a "magic number" ?

Attached File  fout.jpg   31.27KB   23 downloads

Besides that t thought that I saw an error on installing, but as the message always disapears in less than 1 second after installing an plug in I cannot say what it was.

It would be better that the message after installing a plug in stayed on the screen until you had the change to read it.

What is the suggestion?

Plug-in working in 3.0?
Better error message?
Better driver install?

There are families with one reciever and some do like football and then not all are comfortable with Alpha releases.

So until the beta stage has emerged 3.0 is on hold or in try only during the night!
And the night is used by some people to take a little nap. ;)

i have installed on my dm800 the boblight plugin ver 0.1
i can't install v0.2 because of magic number issue (but is it possible to upload the boblight-grab v1.4b binary from .ipk by ftp... v..01 has v.1.4a).

i have upload to the arduino interface (i'm using adalight hardware, arduino uno rev.3 + 64 leds ws2801 strips) the ledstream.pde from adafruit/adalight git.
hardware works well with lightpack software on pc win7 x64.

on my dm800 i have to install cdc-acm driver because it recognize only as usb acm device.

root@dm800:~# lsmod
Tainted: P
cdc_acm 13680 0 - Live 0xc040e000
ftdi_sio 34576 0 - Live 0xc072f000
usbserial 30912 1 ftdi_sio, Live 0xc06e8000

dm800 recognizes arduino on /dev/ttyACM0

i have modded boblight.conf with proper prefix (64 led), serial speed and ttyACM0 port.

but leds are always off. I would try to enable debug=on
( from wiki :
Turns on debug mode for the device, this setting is optional, the default is off.
For momo, atmo, dioder, ltbl and karate devices any data that is written to the serial port or read from the serial port is printed as hex to stdout, for popen devices the float data is written to stdout.)

the questions is: how can i read stdout??
from telnet i con't see the hex data flow...

i have made a lot of tests with dm800 + boblight plugin + arduino + ws2801 led strand

i dont' know why but it seems tha dm800 doesn't communicate with arduino (led not blinking).

i have tested leds and arduino with lightpack softwarr on windows pc and all seems good.

as last test i have upload to arduino a sketch called ArduinoAtmo wich works with atmo protocol...

http://code.google.com/p/arduinoatmo/

some infos here...
https://www.adafruit...hp?f=47&t=23972

so i can test the leds with atmo plugin.
i have installed mamba plugin and the leds go on...i have not configured the mamba plugin (i don't know the settings) but it seems works....maybe with some works to tuning it at best.

i have tested also boblight with atmo protocol but no led blinking and no data flow from dm800 to arduino..

what's wrong with boblight plugin? why it seems not comunicate with serial port?

Also i have tried this:

boblightd compiled for win7, running on my pc
boblight-grab running on my dm800....i have linked daemon and grabber on eth but seems nothing reaches arduino

i have launched boblight-constant from dm800, running deamon on pc, and only in this way i got lights on...

I think there are some issues in enigma2 deamon and grabber too...hope speedy can fix those all.

Hi All,

Beta 0.2.With some fixes. (Don't work on Openpli3.0)

- Fixed Python problem. MagicNumber.
- Automatic install the ftdi driver
- More..

I'am working on this moment for a buffering problem. SOmetimes the video is faster then the box.
This becouse there is a hdmibuffering.
For now you can set speed to 40. That's sometimes better.

I will post this new version (I think first stable release) soon.

I will make this Boblight better, so can everyone post his model info ?

Only for (dm800,et9xxx,et5xxx,dm500,vu+,vuutimo)

cat /proc/stb/info/chipset
cat /proc/stb/info/model

If there are problems with devices connection..... contact then bob.loosen http://code.google.c...5332940693856/#
He can help you. All devices connection must be working, i have nothing changed on this.

I have only remade the deamon and grabber. without the devices.

Hi, If you start boblightd and grabber in terminal, without the enigma2 front plugin.
What you get ?

- first stop boblight: /etc/init.d/boblight-control stop
boblightd -f
boblight-grab -o value=5 -o saturation=1.2 -o use=1 -o speed=40

Have change the boblight.conf in /etc ?? for your device??

Hello Speedy

nothing changed

my setup:

- arduino uno with ledstream from adafruit
- led strip with 64 rgb leds driven by ws2801 ic
- your plugin beta2 ( i can install without issue)
- dm800 with last openpli 2.1

the setup is working good with my pc (lightpack, boblight compiled for win7, atmolight win modded for 64 channels)

Also i tried your grabber linked to boblight daemon running on win7 pc...grabber doesnt' send data (i tried also bobnlight-constant from my dm800 and it works!)

here the screenaout from daemon:

- dm800 with last openpli 2.1

the setup is............................................

Hi,

Try this.

Thanks Speedy for this new beta

so can everyone post his model info ?
Only for (dm800,et9xxx,et5xxx,dm500,vu+,vuutimo)

cat /proc/stb/info/chipset
cat /proc/stb/info/model

root@et9x00:~# cat /proc/stb/info/chipset
bcm7405
root@et9x00:~# cat /proc/stb/info/model
dm800se

?? strange DM800se ??

Have installed the fdti-sio driver

opkg install kernel-module-ftdi-sio 1>/dev/null
depmod -a; 1>/dev/null
modprobe ftdi_sio 1>/dev/null

But keep having problems with the device
(PrintFlags) starting boblightd -f
(CConfig::LoadConfigFromFile)   opening /etc/boblight.conf
(CConfig::CheckConfig)		  checking config lines
(CConfig::CheckConfig)		  config lines valid
(CConfig::BuildConfig)		  building config
(CConfig::BuildConfig)		  built config successfully
(main) starting devices
(CDevice::Process) ambilight: starting with output "/dev/ttyUSB0"
(CDevice::Process)			  ambilight: setting up
(CDeviceRS232::OpenSerialPort) ERROR: ambilight: /dev/ttyUSB0: open() No such file or directory
(CDevice::Process) ERROR: ambilight: setting up failed, retrying in 10 seconds

The same problem with output /dev/ttyACM0 in the config

In the PPanels detailed USB Device Info I see the Arduino listed, I do not know the linux command in terminal to get the same info listed.

here the output of lsmod

on the etxxxx models please use /proc/stb/info/boxtype for correct box type detection
for vu models it is slightly different, they are using /proc/stb/info/vumodel
you can take a peek at the software update status check to see how it's done, ok, it's python but the idea should be pretty clear ;)

found here around line 72: http://openpli.git.s...3fd5205;hb=HEAD
