Has anybody figures it out yet ?

The guys from UBC came buy today, gave a new box and card.

Nothing working now

Of course I am trying to use my DM8000 ...

any pointers appreciated

Just to clarify, I am not trying to do anything illegal. I have a subscriber smartcard, which was
recently replaced with a new one, which supposed to allow me to view HD channels as well.

I am using the latest PLI software (nightly snapshot) of two days ago.

I have searched the forum and tried different settings for CAMKEY and CAMDATA
in the CCcam.cfg file, but nothing is working.

Has anybody had any luck to get the new HD cards working for UBC/Truevision ?

Any pointers would be highly appreciated !

I believe you are using the latest Truevisons HD decoder and comes with new card.Unfortunately the new card are 'merge' with your new decoder, you can't use it even on others Truevisons HD decoder.... it happen same on Astro Beyond decoder & card in Malaysia....

What do you mean they are merged ?

Doesn't the smart card hold the keys ?

Can this functionality not be duplicated on t he DM8000 ?

Rudi,

By 'merged', it means the smart card is 'married' to the sat box.
Each sat box has a unique number and when the smart card is initially activated, it records this unique number.
Afterwards the smart card will refuse to work unless it is inserted in the sat box with the right unique number.
This functionality is possible to duplicate on a DM8000, but the problem is trying to find the unique number of the original sat box.
Often this can only be done, by removing some chips from the original sat box, read it's contents and reverse engineer the firmware inside the sat box.
This needs special equipment and special skills.

I am in the same situation; have a D500HD and a D600 that were running PLI and CCCAM with original truevisions / UBC cards and after the change to the new truevisions box / card they don't work any more.

My understanding is that with the change to the new truevision boxes, truevisions has changed from irdeto encryption to NDS / Videoguard. I have been researching online and apparently Videoguard can be decrypted on Dreamboxes with original cards. The marrying of the cards to the box is apparently no problem (SKY UK works)

Using SCAM 3.5.2 I get the card recognised, but no decryption.

OSCAM is supposed to work with Viedeoguard but needs some configuration. At this stage I don't even get the card recognized.

One of the items that needs to be configured is the Ident and CardID, which I cannot find anywhere for truevisions. Does anybody have those for truevisions / UBC? Not sure, if having those will solve the problem, but at this stage I am stuck at this step....

Are these irdeto cards? What version/patchlevel oscam reports?

I am afraid I don't know how to get the oscam reports, but on the oscam web interface the card shows in status as ERROR (no entitlements). On SCAM 3.5.2 the card is recognised as NDS Videoguard.

Any help on how to configure oscam to recognise the truevisions card will be greatly appreciated.

I would like to understand the issues in greater details.

It sounds to me there are essentially two keys, one in the card and one in the box.

So my understanding is, that the difficulty lies in extracting the box key, is that correct ?

Is there a more appropriate forum for this discussion ?

As far as I know that the latest oscam should be able to read videoguard cards .
Can anybody try the configuration below ? I never tested it.
