I normally use ProjectX to trim and cut out comercial breaks out of recordings but ProjectX does not support HD recordings .
I tried numerous different utilities but none of them work as good as ProjectX does but maybe I missed something...

I use tsdoctor for fixing/cleaning stream and then videoredo tvsuite h.264.
