Hi , I wonder if you can advise whether any of the Rytec files on here can be used on a spiderbox stb.

what is a spiderbox?

Its a closed source non linux satellite reciever.

I'm afraid the xmltv importer will not work on that kind of boxes.

the spiderbox 'leeches' the rytec epg data. since spiderboxes started using the data, i saw my bandwidth on the rytec files go from around 80Gb a month, to over 450Gb a month, so unfortunatley had to place a cap on the bandwidth used for the epg files

i have spent many many hours trying to find ways to stop spiderboxes from accessing this data, as the creators have not asked

but yes, the spiderboxes DO use the rytec epg data

DMM 2x 500s, 2x 7020Si, 600s, 800s, 500HD.


Technomate 500, 500Super, 600, 9100, 800HD, 500HD, TWIN-OE, 2T-OE, Single-OE, NANO-OE. (& all non linux)


Vu+ Duo and others :)

ALL originals, a clone free environment.
