hello to all
could be possibile 'read' the snr (level of signal ratio) value from a e2 based box with a terminal connection?

i'm trying to make a very simple auto-focus script for optimize the usals setup values when is needed
and i don't 'speak' python :P so i'll try something in a clean shell script

i know that with an optimal dish mount it sound useless, but is not so: playing with the lat/long values often give a better reception

thanks in advance for any suggestion

It's no so simple as these things need to be performed by enigma. You might want to make a plugin to perform these tasks.

* Wavefrontier T90 with 28E/23E/19E/13E via SCR switches 2 x 2 x 6 user bands

Isn't using our snmp agent an option?

Does the snmp agent hook into enigma then?

Can you use dvbsnoop/dvbtune?
AFAIK there are options for SNR and signal strength

thx to all
the popeye2 suggestion looks as the simplest one

now i need some tests for found the simples way for change the long value (and apply without restart the gui, as changing it from the osd with the remote)

Easiest way is to learn to speak python and create a plugin. Or learn c++ and change enigma.
