hi all,
got a few questions to the Dutch users concerning (practical) details of sid limitation (4/10s?) on seca3 CDS cards...
one of the Polish providers (CYFRA+) currently is sending update to cards from revision I45 to I4A (yup, they are identical like the CDS cards), and pretty sure will 'turn on' sid restrictions soon...
I've tried to read a little in the Dutch section but my (googletranslate ;)) Nederlands is not that perfect, so:
- is possible at all to block your card with just fast zapping?
- will with eg three recordings running + fast zapping card be blocked?
- when the card will be blocked, what is procedure to unblock it? (from what I've read, you should zap to channel from provider package and wait without zapping etc about 20-30 mins to reset, is that correct?)
- I assume that setting limitation in cccam.cfg or oscam.server to 3/10 prevents an 'internal' blockage of the card, am I right?

thnx in advance for your answers

1: yes, if you zap very fast and long
2: yes, it will
3: "cooldown procedure", it must see some amount of normal ecm's from one channel before it gradually lets you see more channels, if your card is completely in penalty mode, it may take up to half an hour (without zapping) to get complete functionality.
4: in theory, you'll have to experiment what's the best setting, there is some discussion about that.

If you're going to use sid limiting, the good part is you don't get a card in penalty mode, the bad part is you will get a black screen way faster if you're fast zapping, although after ten seconds you will have a normal picture again.

thanks Erik :)
that's about what I thought ...
for me 4/10s is enough (I am not the fastest 'zapper' in town ;));
if only vuduo would support scrambled recordings...

so there are varies degrees of the penalty mode? restriction to one(two?) sid first and only afterwards 'blackouts'?

Yeah what I've heard of it, the card has various levels of penalty, the more you zap (or share...) the higher the penalty level, the longer it takes watching "normally" to take it back to "normal mode".
