==============================================

AMSTERDAM - The Dutch premier league clubs have the biggest TV deal in the history of football is closed. For more than 1 billion will be broadcasting from the 2013-2014 season for twelve years was sold to the U.S. television network Fox media mogul Rupert Murdoch, under the name Sky earlier this year also bought rights to the Bundesliga.

The equally sensational as surprising deal closed last week in London and in the past few days in secret presented to the heads of all major league clubs. Due to the enormity of the contract were to give all parties a document to sign secrecy.

60 million euro

Murdoch's company will pay in the first year an amount of over EUR 60 million, then the contract runs to 80 and 100 million euros per season. Average, the TV contract amounts to approximately 80 million per year (960 million total for 2025). In addition, Fox also immediately take the blame for more than 60 million, Eredivisie Live still has, on his behalf. This is the deal over a billion euros.

The Premiership clubs keep 49 percent of their shares, the remaining 51 percent is owned by Fox. The expectation is that the transmitter in the Netherlands more sports, broadcasting and that eventually a complete sports channel is created. The consequences for the NIS are uncertain.

Well, you can say a lot about SKY, but compared to my other subscriptions, you get a lot more bang for the buck. Lots of channels, +1 channels, good quality. I wouldn't mind paying a bit more for that...

Currently in use: VU+ Duo 4K (2xFBC S2), VU+ Solo 4K (1xFBC S2), uClan Usytm 4K Pro (S2+T2), Octagon SF8008 (S2+T2), Zgemma H9.2H (S2+T2)

Due to my bad health, I will not be very active at times and may be slow to respond. I will not read the forum or PM on a regular basis.

You should speak more to the UK bunch, at the receiving end of his services and you may get a very different picture, re. price, quality, up-to-date films, follow-up service and so on...

...as it goes with monopolies, after he had demolished the opposition, with a well proven illegal and under-hand tactics...

So, as I said, my sincere condolences...

I have a SKY UK card, so I do speak from experience.

I don't dispute it's expensive (it is, especially if you have all packages), but compared to the 15 pound/month the Dutch pay for a handful of channels in if you're lucky VHS quality, it is imho not too bad at all...

OK, but one should compare like for like, of course - that was on my mind... ;)

I lived in the UK for 17 years and have many friends/acquaintances and all the stuff I saw/experienced/debated was not positive at all...

Just to add to this, a bit of context, with some fresh news, in order to clarify my position (nothing more, nothing less):

Someone has to pay for his "little transgressions". Someone has to help him further pollute our social, political and economic environment.

I know I will not be the one... In no way!
